The Hay Trailer

The Hay Trailer is a hand crafted wooden cabin built on a reclaimed hay trailer. It is a cosy, light and homely space situated in the sought after destination of St Catherine's, an area of outstanding natural beauty, very unspoilt and private. Guests have exclusive use of a private hot tub for an extra fee of either £100 for us to clean, fill, light the burner and stoke it to get it up to temperature for you, or else you can light and stoke it yourself for the extra cost of £75. Open plan living/sleeping space Comfortable Kingsize bed, Sofa bed, Bathroom with double roll top bath, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Fully functioning kitchen with hob, microwave/convection oven and fridge/freezer. Oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, tea, Earl grey tea, herbal teas, coffee and sugar are all provided. Flat screen television with Freeview and chrome cast attachment. A private and spacious outside deck with seating and views of the surrounding garden/countryside. There is also a wood fired hot tub just outside the Hay Trailer with a private terrace area. Please let us know when you book whether you would like to use it for an additional cost of either £75 to have everything made ready and you light it and get it up to temperature yourself, or £100 for us to light it and get it up to temperature for you for you on the first evening of your stay. It can take a few hours to get it up to temperature. Bare this in mind if you’re planning to light and stoke it yourself. This cost covers your whole stay, you may light it yourself on consecutive day’s during your stay. There may be a small extra charge for wood used after the first couple of uses if you’re staying for a longer period and use it several times. It’s a good idea to bring flip flops or slippers to get from the cabin into the hot tub, it’s not far, just across the external decking just outside the Hay Trailer. Dressing gowns are provided. The Hay Trailer now has its own private garden with seating, anting with herbs and hedging for privacy. The Hay Trailer is set in a private garden which is 3 acres of beautiful wild garden/woodland. We live down the hill but there’s enough space for everyone to have their own privacy. Private parking space. Choice of 2 Pubs 2 miles away (in Marshfield) selling good food. There is also a takeaway fish and chip shop 2.5 miles away in Batheaston. All linen is provided. The Hay Trailer is strictly a non-smoking property. Guests will be fined £150 for smoking inside the premises. Guest are welcome to explore the surrounding gardens as long as they respect the privacy of all others living on the premises. We live within the grounds of the Hay trailer and are available to help but respect guests privacy. The Hay Trailer is situated on the edge of the Cotswolds, a 10 min drive from junction 18 of the M4 motorway, and 15 minutes from the city of Bath. It is surrounded by acres of stunning countryside. Also nearby are Dyrham Park, Castle Combe and Lacock. There are plenty of good country pubs, some of which are a 5 minute drive away in Marshfield. It is a sought after place to come and visit. It is necessary to reach the Hay Trailer by car. There is no public transport nearby. The nearest train station is Bath Spa, which is a 20 minute taxi ride. Saint Catherine's is crisscrossed with public footpaths which take you onto the Cotswold way in one direction, or into the centre of Bath in the other. Guests must read directions and print off before getting to us so they don't get lost as phone reception in the area is patchy.
