Charming 15th century Villa nestled in the rolling vineyards of rural Piemonte. 5km from the historic town of Acqui Terme, Strevi is recognised as an important wine making region by Unesco. I have lovingly and creatively restored The House over the last 3 years whilst living in Milan where i work as a fashion designer, Milan being just over 1 hour away The house has an eclectic collection of furniture and art whilst remaining simple and spacious. The House has really beautiful finishes, hand painted floors and mosaics done by artists and friends. We treat the house as a creative space in which to relax and spend time connecting with nature, gardening and enjoying the village. In the summer it’s great to have the windows open and let light and air in, spend time with friends collecting flowers and making meals together in the kitchen, collecting vegetables from the kitchen garden (feel free to pick what you want) and in the winter its lovely to curl up by the fire with a book or to play cards with friends. After delicious lunches (we can provide a chef by request) it’s good to curl up and have a nap. The house and gardens are still a work in progress and are constantly evolving with the seasons and the years that we spend there. We have a free standing pool in the garden, 4.5 x 2.5m with space around the edge to sunbath and relax. @theretreatitaly You have access to the whole house and gardens The House has a house keeper who is always available and we can arrange a chef by request. The village of Strevi is very calm and tranquil, a mix of medieval planning and some more modern architecture mixed in making it typically Italian. In the village there are 2 world famous vineyards producing delicious wines and a local deli selling home made product and typical Piemontese dishes. There are 2 agritorismo, farm style restaurants in the village, one a 20 minute walk through the village and the vineyards and with spectacular views across the valley south east towards Morsasco, famous for its castle and white peacocks and east to Orsara with its ancient churches. There are beautiful walks from the house to neighbouring villages and also through the countryside and vineyards. Whilst it is easier to get around via car there is a train station with connections to Milan in the village and a bus running to Acqui Terme. Acqui is 5km and Milan is just over an hour by car. Malpensa is an hour and a half away, Genoa being 50mins.
