The listing is for a room in a restored pre civil war farmhouse on Crickenwood Farm. Guest rooms are in the main farmhouse and share the common areas of the kitchen, library, living room and great room. Vaccination for Covid19 is required. This is a small working farm with cows and horses. There is plenty of parking. There are several friendly dogs on the property. The farm is about an hour from Baltimore, MD, Washington, DC, Harpers Ferry, WV and Gettysburg, PA. Frederick, MD is 20 mins. Sampler Room: Small bedroom with Twin size bed with a memory foam mattress in the new wing about 5' from the two shared full bathrooms. The one window overlooks the patio. This room only accommodates one. There is a small safe in the room. Other rooms at Crickenwood Farm: Hydrangea Room: Bedroom in the new wing of the house. It has a short queen antique bed with a memory foam mattress, electric fireplace, microwave and refrigerator. This room can have a crib added and accommodates two. Quilt Room: Bedroom with antique full size bed in the historic part of the house. Accommodates two. Silhouette Room: Bedroom with Queen size memory foam bed in the older part of the house. Has an electric fireplace, microwave and refrigerator. Accommodates two. Victorian Room: Bedroom with Full size bed with memory foam mattress in the historic part of the farmhouse. Has an electric fireplace. Accommodates two. Each room has a folder with brochures, maps and instructions for using the wireless internet and a safe. TV streaming services and movies can be viewed in the Kitchen, Library or indoor theater in the Great Room. We are 35 miles to either Baltimore or Washington DC. North are Gettysburg, PA, Antietam, MD, and Frederick, MD. The farm is a couple of miles from New Market, MD "Antiques Capital of Maryland". Guests are welcome to share the Indoor theater in the Great Room, the library, kitchen, wrap around porches and patio. TV streaming services are available in the library, kitchen and indoor theatre. Guests are expected to clean up after themselves in the common areas. Smoking is restricted to the exterior porches or the high velocity hood in the kitchen during bad weather. To use RV parking make requests in advance. To entertain other guests please ask permission in advance so there are no conflicts. Hosts are present at the initial night of the guest's stay and usually during the entire stay. We tend to leave guests to themselves unless they request us to do otherwise. Most people have told us they are coming to the country for some peace and quiet and to get away from it all. We respect their desire to do that. This is a historic working farm in a transitional suburban area with cows, horses and a stocked pond. The location is peaceful. We are about an hour from either downtown DC or Baltimore. Antietam and Gettysburg battlefields. and Harper's Ferry, WV are about 45 minutes away. Nearby, the Maryland historic towns of New Market (Antiques Capital of Maryland) and Mt. Airy are a few miles from us respectively West and East on the Old National Pike. For more sophisticated dining and shopping Frederick, MD is about 20 minutes to the historic downtown. Frederick is home to the Civil War Medical Museum, the Monocacy Battlefield and the famous "Clustered Spires" of downtown Frederick. There is no public transportation. The nearest DC Metro stop is 20 miles in Shady Grove, MD. The parking area of the farm can accommodate an RV. We accept pets in the kennels. Larger animals such as horses and aggressive breeds of dogs require advance approval. Please no people with bad allergies or afraid of friendly dogs and cats. Linens and self serve continental breakfast included.
