Accessed by an outside wooden staircase, the Sail Loft has a very large window providing wonderful views across the water meadows of the River Avon. We have made a lovely, light-filled but cosy large studio room. There’s a kitchenette and a woodburner and we are on the very edge of the New Forest with so many beautiful walks and cycling routes at any time of the year. There are lots of good pubs in the area, and we are also only half an hour’s drive from the South coast and its beaches. The Sail Loft was originally built in the mid (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) s and was part of a local mill which made sails for ships on the coast around Lymington, so the building has a historic look but inside has recently been converted to provide small but very comfortable living space, with underfloor heating and a wood burning stove. There is also a small terraced area with table and chairs from where you can enjoy a nice sundowner! Further photos on (Hidden by Airbnb) @the_sail_loft_newforest There is a small patio with table and chairs which is exclusive to the Sail Loft. The Sail Loft forms the upper part of a 19th century building behind our house, so we are usually around and more than happy to help and advise. This is such a special area for people who love the outdoors, with the New Forest on the doorstep. We are so often astonished to find we can walk without seeing another soul, even in the height of summer. But at the end of the day you can enjoy a lovely evening having supper in the pub by the river, watching the trout in the water below. A car is definitely needed, although we are only half a mile from the local town from where buses run to Salisbury (10 miles) or South to Ringwood and Bournemouth. In the Forest there are numerous walking routes, both crossing heathland and through the ancient forests. If you’re coming down to celebrate a special event, let me know and we can arrange provision of celebratory bubbles, or flowers or whatever you might like, if we can manage it!
