Thirwall location and unique setting providing stunning views (yes the photos's are real) of some of our Lakeland Fells makes it the perfect choice for anyone wanting to experience the lakes, either form the am chair with a cup of tea or from the top of Blencathra. This beautifully presented two bedroom bungalow which sleeps up to four and one dog is located at the foot of Blencathra mountain in the popular village of Threlkeld near Keswick. Due to the unique location of Sunnyside guests can enjoy the spectacular views of St John's in the Vale and mountain ranges such as Helvellyn and Great Dodd from the comfort of their own living room, terrace or the garden. Thirwall offers the benefits of a modern, well presented single level accommodation for families or couples, either wanting an outdoor based holiday or just pure relaxation. Guests looking for a walking holiday can quite literally step out their front door and onto the lower slopes of Blencathra, taking them on to a number of walks including Sharps Edge, Skiddaw House and Lowscales (the later two can also be ridden on mountain bikes). We live in the bungalow at the end and will be on hand to settle you in and help in any way we can during your stay, just pop down and ask. Threlkeld is a peaceful, traditional lakeland village which has two village inns both of which serve local ales and bar meals, a coffee shop, Post Office.The village is ideally situated for Keswick and Derwentwater, the Central Lake District. Offering numerous attractions including Beatrix Potter, William Wordsworth, Go Ape, spectacular mountain scenery, lakeland villages and lakes. Alternatively head west to Cockermouth the birth place of William Wordsworth and Jennings Brewery. The village is ideally situated for Keswick, which is only four miles away, and is easily accessible by car, local bus or by walking along the old railway line. The village has easy access to the Central Lake District, Ambleside and Windermere is approximately a 25-35 minute drive. The main local bus route which can take you east to Penrith or west via Keswick runs every hour from the bottom of Blease Road. Once in Keswick you are able to take the regular bus route in to the central Lakes or continue west to Cockermouth.
