We have the perfect location for anyone looking for sophisticated and luxury country cottage accommodation for hen party / bridal shower or ladies-only group weekends. Butcombe has always been one of the Wrington Vale’s most popular villages surrounded by delightful open countryside set within a farming community only a short walk from Blagdon Lake and with southerly views towards The Mendip Hills, an area designated as being of outstanding beauty. Everyday needs are catered for in the villages of Wrington and Blagdon which retains a good level of local facilities including grocery store, chemist, newsagent, post office, public houses, doctors, dentist, butchers, and quaint farm shop cafes. Within this active community many social, sporting, and recreational facilities abound, with cricket, tennis, football and bowls clubs along with many pleasant walks and bike riding within the Mendip Hills area. Recreational facilities also include nearby fishing and sailing at Chew Valley Lake, Butcombe Brewery and wine tasting at Aldwick Vineyard and Farm. Organising a hen party can be really hard work. We are available to help with planning and arranging of events for a fun filled weekend which is included in the weekend rental price, taking the stress out of the process. Activities include wine tasting within walking distance, vintage cream tea delivery (crockery provided), West Country Games, Rodeo and Sumo Suit hire, Butlers in the Buff, and Mobile Bar hire to name a few. Should you wish to use your own preferred suppliers this is not a problem but please ensure that they get in touch with us well before the actual event to discuss practicalities, logistics, etc. Believed to date from 1710, Rectory Cottage enjoys a private and elevated situation in the very heart of this small and popular North Somerset village, surrounded by gardens and grounds in excess of half an acre. The well presented accommodation enjoys many period features coupled with the expected modern day facilities. Character, grounds and a lovely village location are combined in this detached country home. The entire property (excluding the nursery) is available for use, including private use of the hot tub, patio and garden. Hot tub and also BBQ facilities are available when requested in advance. The property offers ample offroad parking, there is enough space for at least 7 cars to park on the property. The cottage accommodates up to 8 guests. Upstairs we have two large bedrooms each with double beds, and both boasting beautiful country views. Each of these rooms provide tv with freeview, and tea and coffee facilities. A large family bathroom with bath and shower is available. Also upstairs we have a large king-size master room with large en-suit bathroom which includes a whirlpool bath. Iron and hairdryer appliances are available on request. A third toilet is available downstairs that can be used by guests sleeping on our additional double blow up matress in a quaint conservatory with beautiful hillside views. There is a large lounge/ living room with plenty of seating and a 47 inch TV with Sky and Netflix. Use of a PS2 with Sing Star karaoke entertainment and also an ipod doc speaker is also available to use. Our kitchen includes a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, as well as range cooker and is fully equipped with all you need for cooking together with the use of our 8 seater table in the dining room. We also have a local convenience store and post office with a free ATM just a few minutes drive away in Blagdon, open 8am-8pm Mon-Sun should you require additional supplies. The garden provides an outdoor eating area with gas patio heater should you wish to enjoy your meals outside. Use of a gazebo and chiminea are also available on request. Our garden attracts abundant birdlife, views of sheep grazing next door, horses on the hill and you might even spot a pheasant or two running across the lawn. It is a no smoking property, but smoking is allowed outside – please use the ash trays provided. We offer a flexible and friendly service in a quiet and peaceful home. The property is available for you to use at your leisure for the duration of your stay, and we are available to offer assistance or advice if needed. We do have chickens and bees on the property, however these are at the bottom of the garden and they shouldn’t create any disturbance. Villages within the area are mainly unspoilt each having its own individual charm and character. Only a few miles north is the City of Bristol, the west country’s financial business centre whilst the charming City of Bath with its Roman origins and Georgian architectural masterpieces are within 40 minutes drive to the east. Both of which are very popular for hen party hens to enjoy an evening out. On the southern side of the Mendips is the historic City of Wells, England’s smallest, with its ancient cathedral. Local attractions include Cheddar George, Glastonbury, Bristol Balloon Fiesta and Bath Christmas market. Our leaflets and Guidebook lists many local pubs, attractions and activities. The region is well served by excellent rail links, the nearest being Nailsea & Backwell Rail Station 5.2 miles away. The M5 and M4 motorways are also easily accessed and Bristol International Airport is some 4 miles to the north. Weekend prices quoted are based on a minimum 2 night stay, arriving 3pm Friday, departing 10am Sunday. Feel free to contact us regarding any additional queries and individual requests you may have, we aim to make our guests as comfortable as possible in their stay with us. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate male only bookings. With regards to health and hygiene we ask that guests make consideration for the official advice on staying safe during the COVID-19 pandemic for the duration of their stay. Antibacterial hand wash is provided at all wash basins. Antibacterial gel can be found as you enter the kitchen from the back door which we would be grateful if hands could be sanitised upon entering the house. Rest assured the house has been deep cleaned prior to your arrival. Please note when you accept a weekend party booking you are committing to a "MINIMUM VALUE BOOKING OF £1,200 FOR THE HIRE OF THE COTTAGE FOR TWO NIGHTS”. Additionally Airbnb charge a commission to both parties - so you are charged slightly more than the quoted price and we are paid slightly less due to this. Airbnb have what is known as a "Resolution Centre" where you can either send funds for further arrangements such as early check in / late check out, and / or I can arrange for funds to be returned at a later stage – failing this, private arrangements will be made for these additional services.
