We offer a warm welcome to a cosy, self-contained cottage on a working sheep farm, with great views of the beautiful Worcestershire countryside. The farm is set in several hundred acres of rolling scenery, with plenty of wildlife and fresh air. There are good local walks, as well as an orchard and small lake on site. Nearby towns offer excellent local produce and independent shops. A lovely spot to recharge your batteries in the great outdoors, or with your feet up in front of the wood-burner! Frithfarm cottage is located in the middle of the farm, away from the road and has views over fields, a sheep shed and towards Clee Hill. Accommodation is spread over three floors, with a bedroom on each floor, as well as two bathrooms, a ground floor cloakroom, fully-equipped kitchen-diner, and a large, comfortable sitting room with wood-burning stove on the first floor. There is also a mezzanine area in case you need to spread out a bit more. There are great views around the farm over the gently rolling local countryside, as well as the lake with plenty of water birds – a lovely spot to watch the sun go down. There are several footpaths and bridleways running from the farm or nearby, including into the nearest town of Tenbury Wells. We also have 2 stables available if guests wanted to bring horses. There is a parking area next to the cottage for 1-2 cars. Further vehicles can park elsewhere in the yard. ***Great opportunity for anyone staying at Frithfarm Cottage to have a look at lambing perhaps helping us feed orphan lambs as long as it is safe to do so under supervision We start end of December2020 first week of January 2021 for a week or so. then start again in the middle of February, hopefully will be finished within 5-6 weeks. Tenbury is a lovely old-fashioned town about 2 miles away, and offers plenty of independent shops including delicatessen, fruit and veg shop, cheesemonger, baker, butchers, tea rooms, pubs and gift shops, as well as a Tesco. Otherwise known as ‘The Town in the Orchard’, Tenbury has an annual Applefest in October (although sadly this will not take place in 2020) to celebrate its local apple crops. The Fountain Inn is our closest pub, about 1 mile away from the farm. The other nearby towns of Ludlow, Leominster and Hereford offer a further array of bars, shops, restaurants and historical buildings. Hereford Cathedral is home to one of the world’s biggest medieval maps, the Hereford Mappa Mundi, as well as one of the largest surviving chained libraries. Near Leominster is the beautiful Stockton Bury Gardens. Private transports No smoking, please and not access farm building. Many thanks.
