Quiet Cascade Head Retreat

Our home is in a pristine natural area adjacent to Cascade Head. "Quiet" is the first word in our listing... it's very important out here. Respect to wildlife and neighbors, while enjoying all the area's wonders, allows us to offer our home on airbnb. Things to do include beaches (by car north & south, by boat across Salmon River), plus hiking, fishing, crabbing, birdwatching, swimming, watching old movies, or just relaxing in the new hot tub (installed 3/22). The Home is rustic and open, with decor best described as 2nd Home dated hodgeepodge, and lighting that doesn’t make sense, but it’s well equipped, cozy and fun; lots of old games, books and movies. There is no direct beach access, but those with their own canoe or kayak will have access to a private boat ramp located adjacent to the community Riverhouse. There's also a swimming pool at the Riverhouse, plus restrooms, wifi, kitchenette, etc. Contact us for entry instructions. The open/close checklist provides all the info you need for a fun and relaxing stay. We like our guests to understand the natural area they will be inhabiting, and to please respect the natural and public spaces. We have minimal interaction with our guests; only what’s necessary to ensure a pleasant stay. If guests are interested, my neighbor would be happy to meet at the home to discuss the natural areas and attractions nearby and to answer any questions about the home or the ranch. There is also a binder in the house with info about the hot tub, garbage and recycling, nearby attractions, etc. We are adjacent to Nature Conservancy Land, and only a few steps from the Sitka Center for Art and ecology. There is abundant wildlife including deer, elk, rabbits, porcupines, bobcats and bald eagles. You just have to be quiet and patient enough for them to come out. Please park in the driveway and not on Ridge Rd. We will provide temporary parking permits for you to place in your car(s) while at Cascade Head Ranch. We will leave an open/close checklist at the house. Important to note that hot tub cover must be replaced and locked down after each use. Ranch rules posted in the house.
