My home is very comfortable and welcoming. Your bedroom is your private space. The living room has a gas fireplace for cozy winter nights, as well as a TV. The dining room is flooded with light and plants. The kitchen is a shared space with room in the refrigerator for guests and the coffee is always on! There is a 3-season enclosed porch for quiet time, reading or napping. The large front porch in the summer offers a nice place to hang out in the evening. The grounds have many plantings and the back yard has a beech tree that is estimated to be 250 years old and is 15 feet in circumference, providing an umbrella of shade at times throughout the day. There is small library with a variety of books, including novels, self-help, travel, and the Arts. One block away is the "Upper Union Street Business District" and one block in the opposite direction is Central Park. The park features an award winning rose garden, an 18 hole frisbee golf course, swimming, tennis courts, picnic areas, and Music Haven featuring free Sunday evening concerts during the summer months. My home is located 2 miles from Proctor's Theatre and downtown Schenectady with many restaurants, a movie theatre, and some unusual shops. There is a Farmers Market on Sundays from 10 am to 2 pm which is held year round. Union College is just under 2 miles down Union Street. We are a block away from the public bus stop that accepts quarters for the $1.50 fare and will get you downtown in 10 minutes. We have 2 bicycles for guest use and plenty of off street parking. Shared spaces include the living room, dining room, open front porch, enclosed rear porch, and backyard area with gas grill and a picnic table. Depending on my work schedule, I may or may not be at home during several hours of the day. I will always have breakfast options ready for you in the morning, including coffee!
