Relax in our 17th Century Pink cottage, the home of two artists. The apt has one double bed, and a sofa bed, suitable for two or four adults or a small family. It has its own bathroom with a walk in shower. A small kitchen area with fridge freezer and dishwasher. A separate food prep room with washing machine. Self contained with its own private entrance with a key safe. Dogs are welcome. Nestled in the hamlet of Sprytown, lots of walks, 3 pubs and a shop only a short drive away. Totally Private and self contained apartment area with own entrance. Enter through the front door using a key from the key safe, down the hallway to a large bedroom on left with double bed and sofa bed. TV and internet. A bistro table and chairs in the hall looking on to a small, well equipped kitchen, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, crockery, cutlery, kettle, microwave and toaster. There is a large bathroom on the left with with walk in shower, toilet and sink. There is also a small room off the kitchen are for food prep with a sink and drainer. There is also a washing machine, we provide a vacuum cleaner, mop and bucket and some cleaning essentials. You have use of the front garden area, with a bench and table, with a pretty view of the cottage. There is a tiny stream in the lower garden and a footbridge to a small orchard. The garden is a little wild and rambling. There is also a small pond in the garden, hidden in the trees near the studio. The seated area by the back door, at the rear of the cottage and the art studio, are restricted areas not available for guest use. There is plenty of parking at the rear of house. Check yourself in with key safe. We may interact if we are around. Brambles is in the tiny hamlet of Sprytown, a tiny cluster of ten homes and a farm. It’s quiet and unspoilt. It is an easy to find just two miles from the main A30 arterial road through Devon and Cornwall. It is 15 minutes drive from Dartmoor National Park. 40 minutes drive from the north coast and Bude, it is 45 minutes drive from Plymouth. It is 5 miles by car to the Devon - Cornwall border, and two miles further to Launceston. It is a short 9 miles drive to the beautiful stannery town of Tavistock known for its pannier market and unspoilt shopping area. We recommend your own transport, the nearest train stations are Exeter and Plymouth. There is a local bus that stops at the top of the road, heading west to Launceston or East to Okehampton. The A30 major arterial toad is less than two miles away, with easy access from the hamlet. The old A30 is just at the top of the road and we find a quieter, slower way to travel through the beautiful lanes of Devon and Cornwall. Brambles Cottage was built in the 1650’s it is a grade two listed cottage. Originally three workers cottages belonging to the Hayne Manor Estate. We refurbished and restored the cottage twenty years ago. We are two artists and teachers, we host painting holidays at the house and artist studio in the garden. There are three local pubs in the nearby village of Lifton. The Arundell Arms, the Lifton Hall Hotel, and The Fox and Grapes. All serve good food. Just a little further towards Launceston is Strawberry Fields farm shop. It has a restaurant, home grown vegetables, a bakery and a butchers. There is also local shop in the centre of Lifton that sells newspapers, all basic provisions and has a card machine and a post office. There is a small petrol station in Tinhay, this is situated in the village just before you reach LIfton.
