A warm welcome to singles or couples to the peaceful and beautiful village of Straiton. A very quiet location ideal for escaping the pace of modern life for a while. Whether you're here for a few days walking, or an overnight stay, we are sure you will love staying in Straiton. Lovely walks all around, minutes from the Galloway Forest and 20 mins from the coast. With a comfortable room and a good breakfast, there is no better place to recharge your batteries! The house is set back away from the main road, at the end of a short private road and is very very quiet. Sometimes there are sheep in the field next door but you don't hear them unless you're in the garden. Your bedroom has a king size bed and you will have the upstairs of the house to yourself with your own private bathroom with sink, toilet and a great "rainfall" shower. A good size garden you are free to enjoy, with amazing countryside views from all sides. Our bedroom is downstairs at the opposite end of the house, so you will have complete privacy during your stay. A good breakfast is of course included - but if you need to leave early with just a coffee, that's fine too! Your bedroom is a good size but feel free to relax in our living room if you wish (with a lit fire on colder days!). You can also have tea+coffee at any time and for warmer days there is a secluded sun patio in the garden. Plenty of room for your car to be safely parked right outside our house on the private access road, which is a cul de sac and well away from the main road. For bikers and cyclists - we can make room on our drive for you, or free up some space in the garage without a problem - just ask. While you can of course take plenty of walks around the village, we are 4 miles or so from the next village, so if you want to go further afield, driving is a must. We are at 1 end of Straiton, at the end of a short private road to the left of the war memorial and away from the main road. We do have a small patio in a private sun trap outside you are free to use, as well as a bench in the back garden - feel free to enjoy the garden as much as you like. At the present time, we can't take pets, sorry. Straiton is in a stunning location; there are beautiful walks around the village, while the stunning dark sky park of the Galloway Forest is literally minutes away in the car. The coast is 20 minutes away, with Maidens, Turnberry, Culzean Castle all within easy reach, as well as Girvan and a stunning drive down the South Ayrshire coastline towards Ballantrae. In addition, Wigtown, Scotland's book town, is an hour's easy and picturesque drive south of here. There is a large graveled area right outside our house, at the end of the private road which is quite safe - you are free to park there; just pull up to the end of the gravel and come on in! Bikers - we can easily make room for you on the drive if you prefer - just let us know in advance. Your own transport is advisable around here but there are lots of great walks around the village. Or drive straight down the road outside for a few minutes and you're in the forest! Please note everywhere is cleaned before you arrive and after you leave; your health and safety is as important to us as ours is, and Zosh prepares breakfast wearing PPE. If you have any specific requests please don't hesitate to ask.
