Idyllic single storey thatched cottage
Located in the idyllic village of Ashton which was previously part of the Rothschild Country Estate of Ashton Wold this single storey thatched cottage provides the ideal retreat to the countryside. The 'Chequered Skipper' public house and village green is a short walk from the cottage and the historic market town of Oundle is a 10 minute walk away. The cottage has fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and is peaceful and quiet. There is ultrafast broadband available. A thatched cottage with comfortable sofas, a bright , clean kitchen and restful spaces. You can sit on the veranda and soak up the tranquil village atmosphere with morning coffee or head to the local pub for drinks in the evening. The pace is slow, peacocks roam around the gardens and this is a place to just relax. Day trips to Cambridge and London are within easy reach whilst one can amble along the Nene river or the many countryside walks from the front door if you seek nature and reflection. Ultrafast broadband has been installed 17/11/21. Longer lets with a view to wfh will be considered and a work space can be set up if required. Parking is usually just outside the front of the house on the lane, there is a relatively flat concrete path to the front poarch area which has one step. The cottage itself is on a single floor with no steps and therefore is very easy to access for those with limited mobility. The bathroom is however small so would not be suitable for wheel chair access. Happy to chat about places to visit/things to do in the local area.
