Welcome to Fern Cottage! Centrally located in the heart of South-West Cornwall, this light and airy apartment offers a haven of peace and relaxation. Nestled on the side of the valley within our glorious garden, you are 'far from the madding crowd' , yet within 20 minutes from both the north and south coasts, with their plethora of stunning beaches and coastal scenery. Fern Cottage apartment has its own private entrance to the rear of the cottage.The French doors to the kitchen can be hooked back on sunny days, allowing you views of the garden and wildlife.You may even be visited by a cheeky hen scrounging crumbs! Don't worry, they are very friendly! The bedroom is peaceful, with double glazing and central heating if you need it on chillier nights, yet has 2 windows to fling open on balmy evenings. The shower room has plenty of storage and views over the garden. To the front, the south facing lounge/diner is filled with light and has views across the garden and beyond to fields. There is a leather sofa, wardrobe, books and information for your stay. We are on hand at Fern Cottage to answer any enquiries you may have. Sorry, no pets. Child under 2 welcome. Bring your own travel cot. One of Fern Cottage's greatest assets is the fact that the historic Tresavean Tramway runs alongside the property. This tramway forms part of the Cornwall Mineral tramways project. This is a haven for cyclists, horse riders and walkers. The rich mining areas of Cornwall’s central mining district now benefit from a 60km network of multi-activity trails. New trails have recently been created to link with existing routes such as the Coast to Coast trail, being mainly traffic free. The network offers people a unique opportunity to access a wide area that is rich in mining heritage and dramatic landscapes. . You can start your day with a morning jog and listen to the bird song or adventure out on your bike to a huge network of off road trails. We have lock up space available and an outside tap for hosing off! Or if sailing and canoeing floats your boat, we have Stithians lake a 5 minute drive away with its lakeside pub renowned for good food or the beautiful tranquil waters of the Helford river only a 20 minute drive. Or why not explore our gorgeous countryside on horseback? Stables are only a 5 minute drive away. If all this activity sounds too much like hard work and relaxing is more your thing, then pop over to Falmouth, where you will be spoiled for choice of great places to eat and watch the boats. Or for a romantic sunset after a surf, you can't beat Godrevy on the north coast path, with its own colony of grey seals. If you would like to experience canoeing/kayaking on the River Fal or River Helford then do ask Randall, the Host, or visit his profile for details of the experience. If you want to leave your car at home why not pop your bikes on a train? Redruth station is only 2 miles away. There are regular bus services to Truro, Falmouth, St Ives, Penzance and surrounding areas. Newquay airport is approx. 40 mins by car.
