Cozy Lakefront Cottage

Welcome to our rustic, seasonal cottage on the lake. Perfect for couples or friends looking for a quiet getaway, or small families w/kids beyond toddler age. Newly renovated. Clean & comfortable. Use of the entire cottage, including; 2 bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room w/flat screen TV & DVD player, screened in porch, private outdoor patio & small beach area w/dock, & 3 kayaks. Centrally located near Sturbridge w/easy access to I-84 & MassPike. The keyless front entrance opens to a full kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a full-size oven/stove and refrigerator, as well as a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cookware, and tableware. Beyond the dining area is a spacious living room with a sectional couch, love seat, flat-screen TV (with basic channels), and DVD player. The indoor fireplace is not functional, however there is an outdoor fireplace on the patio and firewood is provided. One bedroom has a view of the lake, it has a queen-sized bed and dresser. The second bedroom has a twin-sized bed and a daybed (oversized twin bed), as well as a 3-drawer wicker storage unit. The small bathroom has a shower stall. All linens are included for your stay. The large screened in porch looks out to a beautiful view of the lake. Walk down the back stairs to a private patio area with a swing chair, hammock, picnic table, table and chairs, an outdoor fireplace and gas grill. Below the patio there is a steep set of stairs that go down to the lake. There is a small private beach area with a small dock for access to the lake for swimming, kayaking and fishing. There are 3 kayaks and lifejackets available to use. WiFi access is available. Please note there is beam between the dining area and living room which may require taller guests to lower their head slightly to clear the beam. Please also note the cottage is built on a hill. The driveway when pulling in is steep, and guests should always take care when walking around the property. You have access to the entire cottage as well as the private patio area in back of the cottage and the private beach area with a small dock. Additionally there is room for up to 2 cars in the parking area in front of the cottage. Our home is also located on the property. We give our guests privacy but we are regularly available if we are needed. We are always available via text or phone. The neighborhood is located in a recreational lake community. Fishing and boating are popular summertime activities here. The general population at the lake is greater in the summer months. Summer weekends tend to be busier during the day, as the lake has a free, public boat ramp on the opposite end of the lake from our cottage. Evenings and weekdays are quiet during the summer. Spring and Fall are generally quiet at all times. There are many area attractions within a short 10-15-minute drive which include; hiking trails, kayak river trails, Sturbridge Village, Brimfield Antique Flea Markets, a public golf course,several craft breweries (including Tree House), as well as great shops & restaurants. Grocery and liquor stores are also close by. There is a guidebook in the cottage containing information for local dining, shopping and attractions. There is no public transportation. You will need a vehicle to get around. The maximum occupancy is 4 people. Check-in is 2pm or later. Check-out is 12pm. If you require a check-in or check-out that is outside of these times please contact me and I will do my best to accommodate you if possible. No parties, no smoking. While pets are generally not permitted, I may be able to accommodate small-medium, well-behaved dogs. Please contact me to discuss. Adult guests must be at least 25 years of age. We require guests to complete the Airbnb verification, which is an upload of a current Government photo ID to their system. We also require the full names of all adult guests. Children must always be accompanied by an adult. Additional daytime guests who are not included with the reservation are not allowed without prior approval. The cottage is not handicap accessible as there are 8 steps down to the entrance of the house. Children are welcome but the house is not childproof, therefore is not recommended for small children. There is a keyless entry and your unique access code will be provided prior to your arrival. There is parking space available in front of the cottage which will accommodate up to 2 cars. We have two medium sized rescue dogs (retriever mix & hound mix). They are restricted to our fenced in yard when they are outdoors. They are friendly however they may bark for a short time when they first see guests.
