The cottage has underfloor heating and heat recovery ventilation, ensuring you will be comfortable at all times. The lounge is spacious with a dining area leading through to the fully fitted kitchen, with access to the conservatory from the kitchen. There is a single bedroom with full height pull-out guest bed(sleeps 1/2) and the double bedroom has an en-suite wet room. The family bathroom has a small corner bath, mainly suitable for children. We are on a working sheep farm and dogs are not allowed. We meet our guests, on arrival, to hand over the keys and explain the details about the cottage and equipment. We live 10 minutes away and guests are given our mobile number in case of difficulties. There is a handbook in the cottage with details of local shopping, Health Centre and Churches etc. The cottage is a charming detached property located on a hillside sheep farm in the heart of Scotland, offering a perfect base for exploring Central Scotland. This self-catering cottage has its own private garden to the rear, accessed through the conservatory, and has open views over farmland. In the spring lambs can be seen gambolling in the fields. There are local supermarkets in Kilsyth,(3 miles away) and Cumbernauld, (5 miles away). Kilsyth has Lidl, Home bargains and Co-op. Cumbernauld has Asda, Tesco and lots of other shopping and banks. The village of Banton is within walking distance and has a community pub/restaurant that has just been renovated in 2019/2020. It is due to reopen in August 2020, subject to lockdown rules. Banton Loch, which is part of the Colzium Lennox Estate, is only 1 mile away and offers fishing, country walks and a children’s outdoor play area. Nearby is the Forth & Clyde Canal that is overlooked by the Antonine Wall, an ancient Roman Monument and a world heritage site. The Forth & Clyde canal and the Union canal are connected by the amazing Falkirk Wheel, only 20 minutes away by road. The canals provide great walking/cycling routes along the tow paths. The village of Croy is approximately 4 miles away and has excellent rail links to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling. The station has a large free car park.
