Cosy country cottage getaway
We are very friendly outgoing people looking forward to opening our home to guests. You will experience a warm welcoming environment in our relaxing well maintained cottage. Our home is situated in a quiet village overlooking the Loughor Valley and is a blend of traditional and contemporary style. Although it has a 'rural feel' we are close to town and have excellent transport links so you can go exploring. Self service breakfast is available, full access to the kitchen and dining room. We have created a very quirky home which was originally the village forge, it was extended in 1907 then converted into our family home in the late 90's. We have kept a lot of original features and although it is a country cottage it has an airy open feeling to it. We have a mixture of carpeted, wooden and flagstone flooring with two wood burners so all rooms have a cosy feel to them but to make you feel at home don't forget to bring your slippers. We have two female dogs a Labrador and Terrier and a male Jack Russell cross Spaniel they are very friendly and enjoy meeting new people, we also have a number of chickens and ducks (fresh eggs). The guest lounge and the upstairs are dog free but they have access to the downstairs areas - kitchen and one lounge, we are mindful that some guests will want limited contact with the dogs so this can be achieved on request. Weekends and evenings either myself or my husband will be available and on hand to assist in any way possible and although we both love socialising we will respect guests privacy at all times. We both work full time so during week days you may have the house to yourselves, our dogs have access to the downstairs area so please try to keep all doors closed so they stay in the house and out of the bedrooms. Situated between Felindre and Ammanford and Pontardulias, we have a number of excellent pubs offering good quality food including a variety of coffee shops and restaurants within a 4 mile radius. We are just down the road from White Springs and Coynant fisheries so ideal for individuals who love fishing. Although we are situated in a semi rural area we have a local bus service and are ten minutes away from Pantyffynnon railway station on the Heart of Wales Line. For walkers we are situated on the St Illtyds Path and there are excellent MTB and road cycling routes for all levels. We have excellent local fisheries, river and sea fishing with an abundance of historical sites to visit including castles and country parks. We have ample parking spaces for at least 4 vehicles and for those who would like to avoid lanes and mountain roads you can access our property in three different directions as our property is situated 15 minutes away from the M4. With a beautiful stream, being situated on a hill with a split level garden there can be risks to children so I would advise children to be supervised at all times while outside. In the main lounge we have a spiral staircase which could be a challenge for guests with limited mobility. Guests will always have access to our kitchen and complimentary breakfast will be available as we have an abundance of fresh eggs, bread, jams, butter, cereals, milk, tea and coffee so please help yourselves.
