Blue Cottage

This gorgeous two bedroom cottage oozes with character and has it's own sun deck and private garden.  It's in a private location 5 minutes drive from Takaka and only a one-minute drive to Pohara beach and the beachside 9 hole Takaka golf course.  It's an ideal base for families or a romantic getaway for two. Blue Cottage is a warm, fully furnished home from home. It has new furniture and a very comfortable queen-sized bed. The second bedroom has 2 bunk beds and a single bed. The single bed has a dropside bed rail for tiny tots. All bed linen, towels and face cloths are provided. The kitchen is fully equipped so you can cook meals if you wish and basic herbs, oil and sugar are provided. For winter bookings the logfire quickly heats the whole house. We provide wood, kindling and pine cones. We have free WiFi, TV, music, board games to play and good books of all genres to read. Guests have full, sole access to the cottage. We have a washing machine in the garage outside that guests can also use. I will generally greet you on arrival and, as I live next door, I can be reached easily or by phone or text. The cottage is a two minute drive or a ten-minute walk from beautiful Pohara beach. Further to the east are beaches at Ligar Bay, Tata Beach and Wainui Bay. Golden Bay Kayaks operates out of Tata Beach. The local golf course is only a ten minute walk away as is the lovely Grove Scenic Reserve with its giant rata trees, moody limestone rock formations and wonderful lookout over Golden Bay. The Abel Tasman National Park and the Kahurangi National Parks both border Golden Bay, making it the perfect holiday destination for nature lovers. The Cottage is 30 minutes drive from Totaranui, a beautiful beach within the northern part of Abel Tasman. En route are lovely gentle walks at Wainui Falls and Wainui Bay. Blue Cottage is a 5 minute drive from Takaka. As there is no public transport around Golden Bay it is recommended that guests travel around by car. Alternatively if you are a keen cyclist, bicycles can be hired in Takaka. The BBQ is available for a $10 hire to cover gas, plus a $30 cleaning bond. If you return the grill clean you get the bond back. There is a larger fridge/freezer in the garage you can use. Also in the garage is garden chairs, pine cones for the fire.
