This authentic & historic Maine log cabin is nestled in the seclusion of the lofty pine forest. The East Branch of the mighty Penobscot River, Penoboscot River Trails (bike & ski), Katahdin Woods & Waters and Baxter State Park are close by. For 100 years our rustic little cabin in the woods has hosted outdoor enthusiasts to this wild and rugged part of Maine. Easily accessible from I95 & Rt 11, this one bedroom cabin is fully stocked for your visit. Complete with electricity and hot shower. Full size bed in the bedroom. Full/single bunk, futon woodstove and automatic heat in the sitting area. Screened porch. Hammocks. BBQ grill. This property sits on 1.4 acres at the end of a quiet dead end dirt road. Guests can explore the pine forest and adjacent railroad. Grindstone Falls with public access to the Penobscot River, picnic and BBQ area are within walking distance. Penobscot River Bike Trails are 2 miles away. We will likely not be present to greet you in person but are available by phone or text 24/7 should you need assistance. There are other camp owners on the road, please be mindful and courteous of their guests & space. This is a quiet area for those looking to enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature. No pets. No outdoor fires. No loud noises please. Although there are other cabins on the shared dead end road, you can not see them. Complete privacy. The nearest convenience store/gas is 10 miles to Medway. Nearest groceries are in Millinocket. You will need a vehicle to get around these parts of Maine. Highly recommend a bike too as it a cyclists dream to ride these country roads and trails. This is our 100 year old log cabin in the woods. It has been well maintained over the years and with continued love it will be here for many more generations to come. This is clean but rustic camping experience. You will be warm, comfy and dry. The cell service is weak, the wifi no existent. What the property lacks in technology is made up for in tranquility, peace and solitude.
