George Brooks House B & B # 2 Queen
Historic Inn 1/2 mile outside of the town - a fabulous colonial seaport with lots of retail shops and restaurants plus the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Our inn has won two prestigious local and state preservation awards. Featuring hand carved mahogany furniture with Queen or King beds, private bathrooms with tiled showers, full 3 course breakfast, swimming pool, hot tub and bikes. This is our Queen bedroom # 2 downstairs (12' by 15') with fireplace just off of our parlor and garden room. Hospitality - the full B&B Inn experience with attentive service, 3 course breakfast served in our dining or garden rooms, advice on where to have lunch or dinner, nearby attractions, boat rides, etc. Room # 2 is our Queen fireplace downstairs (12' by 15") with private bathroom with tiled shower next to our parlor and garden room. Our rate includes state sales tax and local room tax. We have a formal parlor with wood burning fireplace, garden room with TV and coffee service around the clock, dining room with DVD movie library, covered brick patio with guest refrigerator stocked with cold sodas and bottled water, and tables/chairs around the pool or in the garden pergola. We are on site from about 7 am until 7 pm to take care of breakfast and to provide maps and directions, help make dinner reservations, advice on what to see to really enjoy your trip to St. Michaels. We live about one mile away, and are available via cell phone during the evenings. We sit on 8 acres of land just 1/2 mile north of town and the entrance to the Chesapeake Maritime Museum. The setting is pastoral with deer grazing in the evening with extensive gardens around the pool, hot tub and main house. The town is just over four blocks away via Rt. 33 that has bike lanes on both sides of the road. Nearby towns include Oxford just 8 miles away by ferry, Tilghman Island 11 miles further out Rt. 33, and Easton (10 miles); the county seat with more stores, restaurants, etc. You will likely come by car or possibly boat (we can pick you up one of the marinas in town) . . we have Breezer 8 speed touring bikes for exploring the area and the bike trail on the West side of town through the wetlands, or peddle 8 miles over to the Ferry to cross over to Oxford for some fabulous ice cream (top five in the US!) and oldest historic inn and tavern (Robert Morris Inn circa 1711) along with British Customs House. Discounted tickets available for the maritime museum, two hour sail on the Skipjack "Rebecca T. Ruark" and for the wine tasting at the St. Michaels winery in town.
