Peony Cottage
Peony Cottage is one of the oldest properties in the village of Butleigh set within the beautiful countryside of Somerset. Once the home of the Oscar winning playwright Robert Bolt who wrote, A Man for all Seasons & Laurance of Arabia to mention just a few. The village has a local shop & pub all within walking distance. There are some amazing walks with well marked footpaths to Butleigh woods & the Somerset levels with the magical town of Glastonbury just over three miles away. You will be staying in one of the two original cottages & have access to your own front door with key to come & go as you please. There is plenty of space to park your vehicle down the driveway. The only exception is that we ask that you do not park in front of the gate at the end of the drive as this leads into a paddock with twenty four hour access. Nigel or Steve will be available during your stay should you require any help of further information. Breakfast will be served to you in your dinning room between 8.30 & 9.00. The breakfast will be continental If you have any dietary request please let us know in advance & feel free to knock on our door if you need any further assistance. Butleigh is only a few miles from Street which is where the popular Clarke’s Village Shopping Centre can be found. Glastonbury has a market day every Tuesday & the City of Wells which is within thirty minutes has a market day every Wednesday & Saturday. Both Bath & Bristol are an hours drive away. Also the beautiful seaside town of Bridport in Dorset is just over an hours drive. The Cottage does not have a kitchen facility hence we provide breakfast for you. In the dining room there is a mini fridge with water & milk provided, kettle, cups, plates & cutlery with a selection of teas, coffee & biscuits.
