A beautiful double or triple room with a shared bathroom. Perfectly located in the most attractive part of Fribourg and within walking distance of everything the city has to offer. Maison d'Ammann is a boutique guest house packed with charm and character. Built in 1750, for centuries it was the prestigious residence of Fribourg aristocratic families, but today we welcome people worldwide who are travelling for business or pleasure. Both long or short stays are possible. Maison d'Ammann is a beautifully restored aristocratic town house, originally built in 1750. It was entirely restored and renovated in 2011 using traditional craftsmanship and is now a guest house offering you a home away from home. There are five floors and six rooms. On-street parking is available, however, you'll need to purchase a guest parking permit/city parking card which costs CHF12 per 24 hours. We can happily arrange this for you if required. Otherwise you can also pay by the meter. We offer discounted rates for our guests who are staying a little while longer. Yoga classes are held in our loft room throughout the week. Please ask us for more details or search for 'The Pop-up Yoga Company'. As our guest, your first class is just CHF 15 and any longer stay guests will benefit from the discounted student pricing. Guests staying longer than a week have access to the kitchen, which is well stocked with everything you could need to create your favourite dishes. We kindly ask that guests leave the space as they found it and keep the area nice and clean for everyone else. :) A breakfast room is available for dining. We also offer a fresh continental breakfast every morning at an additional cost of CHF12 per person (cash). Please let us know in advance if you'd like this. The guest house is owned by Elisabeth (who lives in the house) but jointly managed by her son Anis and his girlfriend Jessica. We will always be available for you when you need us but we also appreciate you may prefer your own space and therefore we are happy to blend into the background also. When possible, we like to meet guests personally to welcome them to the house and make sure you are settled, however, the front door has a code which we can share with you if you are arriving while we're not in. You are encouraged to make yourself comfortable during your stay. We will happily recommend day trips and places to visit, walks, cafes, restaurants etc. Fribourg is our home so we know all the best spots and hidden gems. Fribourg is a wonderful city! It combines the historic charm of the Old Town, with all the modern amenities you could require. We are located on Grand-Rue, perfectly placed between the quiet cobbled streets and the main city centre. It's a 15 minute walk to the train station where you'll be well connected to the rest of Switzerland. Direct trains will get you to Bern (the capital) in about 20 minutes. There's also a bus station with excellent public transport throughout the city and further afield. The nearest bus stop is a two minute walk. From here you can get to the train and bus stations in five minutes. Walking around the city is very easy and there are some gorgeous local walks you can start from the front door.
