On the top floor of our lovely Edwardian home in a quiet conservation area in Moseley, Birmingham, UK, this beautiful double-aspect studio flat (18m2) has been fully refurbished to a very high standard and is private and comfortable. It has a king-size double bed and an air mattress is available. You'll have your own good-sized luxury en-suite, a well-equipped kitchenette, a Smart TV and fast WiFi. Central Moseley and an M&S Foodhall are a short walk away. There is ample free on-street parking. We are located in one of the nicest roads in Moseley! Our beautiful Edwardian home is full of character, but updated and modern in all its conveniences. The studio flat is on the top (second) floor and has been completely refurbished (completed in 2018, redecorated 2020) and been highly insulated with environmentally-friendly natural materials. It contains a king-size John Lewis bed, a small wardrobe with shelves and hangers, and a small extending table with two chairs for having meals at or for working. Dimmable lighting and a high ceiling add a touch of luxury. You have exclusive use of a gorgeous ensuite/wetroom, with a large walk-in shower, heated towel rail and underfloor heating. There is an illuminated mirror. Also within the room there is a well-equipped kitchenette for your use, with solid surface worktop, kettle, tea & coffee making facilities, sink, full-size fridge with freezer compartment, microwave with integral grill, cutlery, crockery and utensils. There is a Smart TV in your room, with an HDMI socket (bring your cable to connect your device). You'll have excellent WiFi and the TV has access to catch-up services like BBC i-Player, as well as Youtube. If you bring your account details you can watch Netflix too. Please note we do not provide breakfast, although we provide tea, filter and instant coffee, and milk. There is ample space to store and chill your own food items which can be easily bought nearby. The room is double aspect. The main window overlooks the front garden and tree-lined road, and there are two other windows overlooking the mature rear garden. All the windows have blackout blinds and you can open them for fresh air. The room is centrally heated but there is a supplementary heater and a fan for your extra comfort. Please note that the entire house is a fully non-smoking space. For your safety the house has linked, mains-operated smoke alarms on every floor. There is a carbon monoxide alarm in the room. The central heating system is modern. The main front door, hall and stairs accessing your room are shared with the family occupants of the house. Just inside the house front door is a seating area, ideal for waiting for a taxi. You'll get your own front door and room keys, so can come and go as you please. Besides access to your room, you are welcome to enjoy our mature garden when the weather is good - but be aware that we are building an extension at the back of our house, so access to the garden needs care at the moment. Although this is a family home, your space is your own and we respect your need for quiet and relaxation. We respect social distancing too, and the house is large, so we won't come close to you. If there is anything else you require, just ask! We are usually on hand to help. Your room is on the top floor and the only other room on that floor is little used (it is not used as a bedroom), so your space is private and quiet. Moseley is a wonderful leafy Bohemian suburb. It has a fantastic choice of places to buy and eat food, ranging from a Michelin-starred restaurant to independent cafes, coffee shops and delis. Together with Kings Heath and the Balti Triangle (both nearby) you'll never be stuck for something to eat! There are plenty of great bars and pubs too. Moseley was named as the best urban place to live by the Sunday Times in 2015. It has a great monthly farmers' market and some lovely parks and also annually hosts several festivals. Moseley has a beautiful hidden gem, a private park. We have a key, so just ask to borrow it! Here are some of the great places that you can reach on foot, or via a short bus, taxi or car ride: Cannon Hill Park, Edgbaston Cricket Ground, Edgbaston Priory Club, Moseley Bog/Sarehole Mill, University of Birmingham, Queen Elizabeth Hospitals. We are about 5 minutes walk to the heart of Moseley, 10 minutes from Kings Heath shops and about a 20 minute walk from Edgbaston Cricket Ground. From Moseley, very frequent buses run to the city centre (approx 3 miles away). Other destinations are easily accessible via other local buses. The 34 bus passes the house, but is infrequent. Taxis are about £7 to the city centre with endless attractions including Bullring shopping, the Symphony Hall, the Arena Birmingham and theatres. The airport, NEC and Genting Arena are about 8 miles away. There is unlimited free parking on the road outside the house. Due to Coronavirus, we are currently being extra careful. The room is thoroughly cleaned between occupants and (of course) all the linen is changed. You are welcome to use our washing machine to refresh your laundry if you are travelling. We are happy to share our local knowledge to help you get the most of your stay with us.
