3bd Mountain Cottage with Views; walk to NYC train

Our lovely home overlooks Montclair and has incredible views of NYC which are beautiful by day or night. The interior has the charm of a country cottage to which we added some modern touches. We want you to feel at home and enjoy our place as much as we do! Don’t hesitate to ask if you need any tips on where to dine out or what park to take a nice walk at. In the entrance area, there’s a small entryway with closet for coats and shoes. From there you enter the hallway. To the left is the first guest bedroom, which easily hosts two people. It is furnished with a queen-size bed, TV, table, and chairs. To the right of the hallway is the open-floorplan living room, furnished with a giant comfy couch, TV with Netflix and HBO. The adjoining room is the game room with pool table and closet with lots of board games. Next is the spacious kitchen with large dining table and everything you need to cook, a guest bathroom with shower, laundry room, and doors leading out to the park-like backyard with an expansive lawn and 2 patio areas. A trail in the back leads up to the surrounding Mills Reservation County Park where our property line extends into, and features deer, rabbits, and foxes. Every now and then, the deer come to visit our garden and snack on the bushes. They are super cute, as are the squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits that often run around our property. We even saw a groundhog once! On the second floor, is another guest bedroom, furnished with a dresser and comfy queen-size bed, along with a guest bathroom with bathtub. Across the hallway is the master bedroom, also with a very comfortable queen-size bed, two closets, and access to the huge master bath. It is equipped with a bidet, has 2 sinks, a bathtub, and provides great lighting thanks to the beautiful skylights. The last room on the second floor might be the most beautiful. It is the office, furnished with two desks, and gives you incredible views of the area and NYC. If you’re an early bird, make sure to catch the sunrise at some point. It’s the most gorgeous thing to see! Although we will not be present during your stay, we are glad to help as much as we can and will reply swiftly to your email or text requests. Montclair is a very special town. Located close to NYC, it has the best of both worlds: The quietness and intimacy of a suburb, as well as the liveliness, diversity, and culture you would find in Brooklyn. Also, it is not much farther away from Manhattan than some of the boroughs are. The train takes about 50 minutes, the bus can make it in as little as 30, depending on traffic. Around the house are several parks with hiking trails, including one right behind the backyard! There is also an outdoor pool, tennis courts, playground, basketball courts, and botanical garden all within a 10 min walk. The closest Montclair downtown (we have four!) is about 25 minutes by foot and only about 5 minutes by car. There are two supermarkets, several wine stores, shops, gas stations, and basically everything else you need. If you would like to visit Montclair State University, you are in luck too: It is also within walking distance. If you plan a trip to NYC, there are two train stations (NJTransit: Montclair Heights and Mountain Ave) and two bus stops (NJ Transit and DeCamp) each within 8-12 minutes walking distance. Also, the bus line 28 connects basically all of Montclair and can easily take you from one downtown to the next. We love kids and you are very welcome to bring yours to stay in our home. However, please know that we don't have children ourselves and therefore do not have a child-proof house.
