Hunter, and Fishermen paradise. Good hiking and historic venue. House is located on a cul-de-sac and in a quiet neighborhood with park directly across the street. The Kentucky State Prison is on the main road to Sunset House. It is an interesting part of Kentucky history from the late 1800's. It has been called Castle on the Cumberland and is very interesting to see. Rose Hill Museum is generally open from May to October and we do encourage a visit to learn about this area of Kentucky. This is an upstairs home with no handicap entrance. Beautiful sunsets year-round. Owners live on lower level and are available to answer questions or help with your needs. Public Boat Launch is just around the corner. Boat parking available on the property (depending on size). We live in the downstairs and are always available. Historic 'Castle on the Cumberland' also known as Kentucky State Penitentiary is nearby, as well as Rose Hill Museum will give you a history lesson of the Cumberland River. Museum is open from May through October. The nearest town is Eddyville, appx. 6 miles to the west. Paducah is the largest town nearby, about 40 miles to the west. Nashville airport is approximately an hour and a half away. Barkley Airport in Paducah is also a good option. Ask about pets, 1 dog is allowed in their crates only, and must be on a leash when outside since there are a lot of deer, chickens and cats in the neighborhood. A refundable pet deposit is required and returned once the house is cleaned. Please let us know if you are bringing your pet.
