We kept everything simple, cleant cut and neat with quality material, mixing stone, wood, brushed metal and playing with warm colors over white. It includes: - a dining/studying area (table with adjustable height) - a kitchen area with hybrid oven, induction stove, fridge, stainless ink sink. All brand new. Comes with basic set of pots, pans, dishes and cutlery etc. Nespresso coffee maker and tea pot provided. - a true bed with slatted frame and comfortable mattress, with reading LED lights and charging alcoves for your iThings. Double-glazed window on the street side, so that only the birds and the sound of the waves (on the lake side) may be your only concern acoustically. Good-bandwidth and solid WiFi (recently upgraded) to ensure WFH or Netflix binge watching. Built in the XIXth century this building was originally a school for girls. Old wooden floors, moldings on ceilings, wooden built-in storage, fireplaces, this house has soul and the undeniable charm of old Europe. We have just upgraded it, with a touch of fresh paint and some new equipment. This is our family house and we feel very fortunate for it. We decided to share the daily joy we feel to be living there. Four generations have been raised here. This house has seen some training for the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Swiss National Waterski Championship, some others chilling kayaking from the private pier in front, or gardening the flowers and the gingko standing in front. We truly love this house and hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Hopefully every morning you will look at the Alps rising from the water, smile at the morning sun in front of you and feel the same way. - The small private PIER in front of the house is also for your use. Picture a romantic picnic litterally on the water at sunset or simply an after-work relaxing glass of Chardonnay, surrounded by the local royal swans. - In summer, you can even borrow our STAND-UP PADDLE or KAYAK for a tour on the water. - Parking spots nearby, and walkable distance to train station. - The garden is unfortunately not part of the rental, but the promise of the whole lake promenade and pier will make up for that. - Cat warning: one of our 2 cats likes to hang out close to the studio’s lakeside window. He may try to engage and seduce you into petting. In summer, when open windows is preferable for cooling, being a cat lover is therefore an advantage. Otherwise we always make sure the cats do NOT enter the rental premises. *** COVID-19 SITUATION - SPECIAL CARE: We take the situation seriously ourselves and set a few things to ensure that risk is managed and highly reduced: * EXTRA-TIME set between stays for cleaning up to 3 days. Please ask us if in doubt. * CLEANING: reinforced with disinfectant, done with extra-care and gloves * INDEPENDENT ENTRANCE: although we share the house with guests, we will make sure not to meet in the common entrance - the only place where we could face each other. Door handles are in copper-brass and are disinfected regularly. We are a Swiss familyworking in marketing, design and tech, with 2 cute daughters and two somehow-cuddly yet independent cats. (They do NOT enter AirBnb spaces) We live on the ground floors and are available for any issue you may have. We are Swiss yet have lived abroad. Contact us also by phone/whatssap/email. Language-wise, whatssap us in any of the following: English, French, some Italian, some Russian...and we’ll respond with a solution in a snap. And count on us for good advice on local wine or restaurant. We are experienced SUPERHOSTS. But at the beginning of the AirBnb adventure, we merely wanted to renting some spaces of our large family house that were left unattended between the visits of our family or friends. We have been enjoying the ride so far way greater than we expected. We truly enjoy hosting people from all over the world, being a relaxing pit stop in their travelling plans and interacting with them. Some families or couples come back on a regular basis here, and we ended up having built some great friendships. The apartment/house is located in the center of Morges, in a residential area on the pier by the lake of Geneva. This conveniently means 2min walking to the main shopping area of Morges, with Migros/Coop department and grocery stores. We usually do everything by bike or foot, including visiting the grocery artisan market up on Saturdays morning in the Main Street. With a small-and-cute town vibe, Morges is an exclusive and prized location where most locals in the region are eager to live in, due to both its undeniable lakeside charm and very good connection to the rest of Western Switzerland. Morges is a great exploration base for touring around Western Switzerland and Europe (40min to the Geneva airport). Most of our guests explore by foot, bike and train. You can even rent public bikes very close to the house. If you really insist on driving a car, there is parking nearby and our house is very close to the highway entrance for fast access. But the best IOO mean of transport remains the train. The train station (to Lausanne and Geneva) is only 7 min away by foot from the apartment. EPFL is also very close, accessible by direct buses. So follow the locals, don't hesitate and avoid spiritless centers for the small town feeling of Morges while exploring the whole region conveniently. Hikes in the Jura or the Alps, visits to the wineries around, train-hoping over to Montreux or Gstaad, boat trip over to France...you pick!
