“Chez Pouvet” is a group of former farm buildings that have been renovated to provide 2 Gites and a large pool terrace Pouvet is in a tranquil rural location and a car is essential. Both Gites have access to a terrace with a heated outdoor swimming pool, open between May and September, dining and sunbathing areas They are furnished to a high standard, with Wi-Fi, Smart TV in the lounge, and well equipped kitchen The hosts live on site in a private residence Escape, Relax, Discover Gite L'Etable is a two bedroomed property sleeping up to 4. There is an open plan kitchen, diner and lounge. The oven has a ceramic hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. There is a Smart TV in the lounge for guests to use their own membership for Prime and Netflix, along with English and French channels Each bedroom can be made up as double or twin and is en-suite. The master bedroom has a bath with shower above and a TV in the room. The second bedroom has a shower room. Electric fans are provided in all bedrooms, but as the stone walls are very thick, the rooms tend to stay quite cool. A welcome pack is provided for your arrival enabling you to make a drink and snack until you can get to the shops. We also provide cleaning products and paper goods, as who wants to buy toilet paper on their holidays?! Pouvet is in rural France so having a car is essential to get around. We have a guest parking area for you. There is a small bakery and bar in the village, but the nearest artisan bakery and supermarket is a 10 minute drive away. The nearest airport is Limoges, with Poitier and Bordeaux also options but a longer drive. We are about a 5 hour drive from Caen and 6 to 7 hours from Calais. We are available to assist guests as required. We interact with our guests but also respect their privacy. The Gite is set in open countryside and so guests will need a car. It is an ideal base from which to explore. The nearest supermarket/bank/bakery is 9km away. The nearest village is 1km away. There are many places to visit and great restaurants within a 20km radius. The nearest cities - Angouleme/Limoges - are 40km away On site parking is provided. We are not close to any public transport. Guests must have a car. During the summer months (July and August) both Gites are only let together for larger parties of up to 11 people. This is to give exclusive use of the pool and terrace areas. This is typically for family groups or friends who holiday together and require privacy. Dogs are allowed by prior agreement with the hosts. For the remaining months the Gites can be booked separately - but this may mean that the pool and terrace is shared with other guests in the other Gite. No dogs are allowed for individual Gite bookings, without prior arrangement with the hosts.
