Spacious Barn Conversion with Pyrenees view

A large and airy, tranquil gite with stunning views across fields and farmland to the Pyrenees. It adjoins an old farmhouse which has been lovingly restored by its owners. A very comfortable base for walking, cycling, fishing, bird watching, sightseeing or simply relaxing. We have designed and decorated this gite to celebrate its origin as a beautiful old barn with many of its original timbers incorporated. The result is a light, airy sanctuary with all modern conveniences. You will have entire access to the gite, its private terrace and garden with your own entrance and free parking space. Either we, or our assistant, will be their to greet you on arrival. If we are on the property you can interact with us as much or as little as you desire. We provide a welcome pack with wine, bread, butter, jam, milk and a few other essentials to get you started. A welcome meal can be provided by prior arrangement. We are situated 3/4 kilometres outside of Escanecrabe village in the Haute Garonne region of Gascony which is now becoming known as the Tuscany of France. Our nearest town is historic Aurignac 10 minutes away. We have a larger town, Boulogne sur Gesse, with supermarkets, weekly market and bars, restaurants etc just 15 mins away. You can drive through the mountains and into Spain for lunch in one hour and Toulouse is also just an hour away by car. There are swimming pools in both Aurignac and Boulogne sur Gesse. The one in Boulogne has a very good restaurant right next to it and there is also a lake. It is recommended that you have a car as we are in the midst of countryside and farmland and not near public transportation. We do have a couple of older mountain bikes which can also be used. We have two friendly dogs, an old Labrador and a young box/setter who you may encounter on our property but they do not have access to the gite or its garden. We also keep chickens so fresh free range eggs are usually available.
