Golden Cottage-near CBD, Lake Wendouree & Gardens
Golden Cottage is perfectly located for Sporting Tounaments and Cultural Events. Walk 1.5 km to Lake Wendouree or take a 5 minute drive into the CBD. This Delightful Cottage is very clean, comfortable and convenient. Stroll across the road for good fish and chips, a bakery, pizza or a well stocked general milk bar and DVD hire or drive around 1.2 km to Stocklands Wendouree. This home has been set up for comfort and convenience. The spacious master bed room has full en suite with a double shower while the 2 other large bedrooms easily accommodate 2 people each and we have another small single bedroom with a king single bed. As the photos show, we have also put another king single bed into the alcove of the front lounge if extra people are staying. The main bathroom is in great condition and there is a separate toilet. This is Ballarat - so when there is a chill outside you turn on the central heating and think about what to do next. Perhaps cook something up in the well equipped kitchen that includes a double oven and relax with some TV or a DVD. The L-shaped lounge offers 2 areas for relaxation if the kids insist on bringing computer games etc. WIFI internet ( Unlimited Data) is available on an NBN connection. You will have the house to yourself and your group along with the well established garden area. There is a double length garage at the end of the drive if you bring bikes to secure. The driveway provides adequate off street parking for several vehicles. Tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper are supplied and located in the kitchen pantry cupboard. Other food and drink requirements need to be purchased by guests - a general store/milkbar is across the road. Our house is in a well established neighbourhood that is only a short distance from Ballarat centre. The immediate surrounding area is relatively flat, making it an ideal base to explore by bicycle. A great day can be spent with a ride around Lake Wendouree and a picnic shared with the many water birds that will come to greet you. Of course many other locations and venues will tempt you as well and the house is well located for main road access without the noise and congestion that immediate proximity brings. Buses are also available in close proximity to the house and can run you into the CBD, the train station or the main shopping plaza as a matter of course. We know Ballarat has a lot to offer visitors with many and varied interests. The history of the place is worthy of many return visits to investigate. The 19th century architecture reflects the riches that the gold rush produced. We particularly like the Botanical Gardens that show long established trees and plants from around the world.
