Casa di Lyndall - Entire house with exclusive pool
Welcome to “Casa di Lyndall” My home is located in the medieval village of Lecchi in Chianti, set in rolling hills, castles, vineyards & olive groves, & provides a view that extends nearly 50 kms. It’s a perfect choice for a family or group of four people. My home is built in typical Tuscan style with exposed chestnut beams, fireplace, and a well appointed kitchen. The new 8 metre pool is private & located on the top terrace of the olive grove, has a child proof fence, and 4 sun lounges. For the colder months, the house has underfloor heating and the ambience of a wood-burning fireplace in the lounge area. There is also a large flat screen TV, CD/DVD player and a blue-tooth speaker for those who like to listen to their own music. The well designed kitchen has Carrara marble bench tops and is equipped with every modern appliance including a dishwasher and microwave. The adjoining pantry provides extra storage and contains a washing machine. There are 2 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. Floor to ceiling windows provide lots of light and air into the rooms. The main bedroom has a large bed and an adjoining ensuite. The ensuite has a shower, basin and toilet. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds that can be converted to a Queen size bed. Fans are provided in both bedrooms. The main bathroom is spacious and contains a bath and shower. The covered outdoor terrace is one of the highlights of the house. It is the perfect place to enjoy meals cooked on the BBQ located nearby within the garden. Above the house is another paved area where guests can laze about on sun-lounges with a good book, or enjoy a late afternoon aperitivo while watching the sun set over the surrounding vineyards and olive groves. The house has lovely gardens and includes the adjoining olive grove growing within ancient dry stone walls. The historic towns of Siena, Florence, Monteriggioni, San Gimignano, Cortona and Arezzo are easily accessible by car. There are also many quaint villages dotted throughout the region, providing a glimpse of another time. This area of Chianti is the home of the Gallo Nero Chianti Classico wines. The prestigious vineyards of Castello di Ama, Castello di Brolio and Castello di Cacchiano are located within 10 minutes’ drive. Chianti is also famous for many other things including bike riding along the white gravel roads. The world famous L’Eroica bike event takes place every October from the nearby town of Gaiole. Trekking through the hills and forests is also a popular activity. Extensive gardens and pool area belong to the house and for the private use of guests. The gardens include 2 furnished terraces. I live most of the year in Australia, however I have people in the village who manage my house in my absence. They are available to meet you and to show you around. Anita and Clementina can also tell you about lots of the wonderful things available to do during your holiday. The village of Lecchi, with its medieval stone houses, was founded late in the 13th century. The castle of Monteluco in Lecchi is located on the hill that overlooks the village. The village also has a grocery store and Enoteca where you can buy local wines and fresh produce. Paolo makes the best caffe and always makes you feel welcome. There are several restaurants with excellent reputations within a short drive, however Lecchi boasts the best restaurant in Chianti called Malborghetto. Simone the owner and chef, also runs fabulous cooking classes. A car is necessary. There is private parking at the house. There are a number of buses that run each day to Siena from nearby towns. Bike hire is available in Gaiole in Chianti.
