Beautiful large family house in the quiet hamlet of Barrytown 1870 Italianate, classical proportions, spacious rooms. Hudson river views. Beautiful Garden, front and back porch. 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sunny kitchen, woodburning stove in the winter The house is very attractive and comfortable, full of original details. Wood floors throughout. Big windows, light in the winter and cool in the summer. Full kitchen, no microwave. Guests will have access to the entire house. Some closets and artists' studio off limits. Grill available, wood stove in winter, air conditioning and fan in summer. On initial arrival we would like to orient and welcome guests, but we will otherwise not be present. We live in a hamlet on a dead end road near the Hudson river. Very quiet and peaceful. The house is situated close to the Hudson River and there are great walks close by, poets walk, fathers trail. Bard campus is 5 mins away. Close to the towns of Red hook, Rhinebeck, Woodstock, Kingston. Farm stands in the summer. Swimming lakes and watering holes. Situated 10 mins from Rhinecliff amtrak station. Near the bus from the City to Kingston. 90 miles from NYC on the Taconic or 87. Our House is situated close to the amtrak railway line and on the other side of the railroad is the river. So you will hear the trains passing. The freight train can be loud at might.
