Potting Shed. Perfect 5* Cornish retreat

Durian House is a secluded family home, with two independent letting cottages attached to the main house. The cottages are light, simple and cosy. Well equipped with all that you will need. Fantastically located 1 mile outside the village of Stithians in rolling countryside. Only 6 miles to the bustling harbour town of Falmouth and the river Helford (10 minutes drive) with Truro and the North coast 10 miles away (20 minute drive) Follow us on our FB page - Durian Escapes / Durianhousecornwall Entered through a communal garden the Potting shed has a small gravel area with table and chairs at the front. Downstairs has the open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area. The kitchen is fully fitted with fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and fan oven with hob. There is a dining table that sits four with a sitting area with large flat screen tv (with free view and DVD player). Upstairs there is bedroom with king size bed made with 100% Egyptian cotton sheet. There is plenty of room for a travel cot (please note the curtains are not black out). The ensuite bathroom has a shower over a jacuzzi bath. Towels are provided. One small well behaved dog is welcome, however there will be an additional charge of £5 per night. WiFi is available. Please note that there is a locked adjoining door in the property to the main house. This door is not used during your stay. Please note that THERE IS NO ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING FACILITY. Durian Cottage has off road private parking as well as a private courtyard with table and chairs to sit and enjoy the sunshine, bird song and views across the gardens There is a shared garden with one other cottage as well a small private woodland just a short walk up a country lane where you are welcome to walk, build dens or just appreciate the peace and quiet. The Potting Shed is attached to our main family home. However it is totally independent in a secluded setting. Therefore you will have complete privacy should you wish, but we are also next door if you need anything. We are a family home of three generations so our ages range from 10 years old to 70! There maybe some noise from us (the dog barking, our children playing in the garden). Prior to your stay I will email through detailed directions to the property along with check in and check out information should you wish. Otherwise all details should be provided through Airbnb. You will also have access to a (Hidden by Airbnb) map that links all our recommendations in the area. However if there are specific things that you would like (where to buy the very best in local produce or most importantly where to buy the very best ice creams!) I will happily give you specific information to enhance your stay. If you would like some pampering during your stay we have links with the highly recommended Home Spa Cornwall. Stithians is a wonderful busy village with a pub, church, play park, village shop, GP surgery. Stithians lake is only a stones throw with plenty of water sports on offer. It is what we describe as the 'middle of no where - middle of every where' it takes no more than 10 minutes to get to the following places; Falmouth - thriving town full of art and culture, home of the Maritime Museum, and a wide variety of restaurants. The Helford River and the famous Ferry Boat Inn. The perfect child friendly beach is glorious and with our favourite pub situated on the water what more do you need? Bissoe Trail - famous for its incredible cycle tracks 20 minutes; Truro - the city of Cornwall. Stunning cathedral, beautiful shops and a lovely place to spend the day exploring. The incredible beaches on the Lizard (Kynance Cove) Surf paradise on the North coast (Porthtowan, Portreath) 40 minutes; Newquay airport Eden project and Heligan gardens The nearest train station is located 4 miles away in Penryn. The main line service from London runs into Truro which is a 20 minute drive A car is essential For stays of 14 nights there will be a mid stay clean with clean sheets and towels.
