18th century house, magical views

See article and slideshow of photos: (Website hidden by Airbnb) The HIRON is a beautiful 18th century country house in the hills of southwestern France, with 3 hectares (7.5 acres) of land, and numerous surrounding buildings. It consists of a main house with 3 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and a 'pigeon tower', with 1 bedroom and bathroom. There are five terraces, which offer sweeping 360° views of the valley, hills, and fields, and to relax and observe the different light, depending on the moment of the day. There is even a special terrace for sunset, in the ruins of an old tower...Peace, silence, beauty. The house is rustic with style, and has been renovated with care to preserve the beauty of the original elements - old tile floors, large wood beams, crafted wood doors, 4 fireplaces...You will feel that you are part of this history, but with all modern comforts, including a 14m heated pool. Our place has a unique style - decoration, furniture and paintings are a mixture of antique and modern. Main floor has a large living room with piano, full kitchen, and study/TV room, each with great view of the countryside and direct access to a terrace. On the first floor there are 2 bedrooms with queen beds. Each one has a private bathroom. The second floor has a bedroom with 2 queen beds and a bathroom. The pigeon tower is separate - on the main floor there is a bathroom, and on the first floor a bedroom with a queen bed. Over the past 12 years we have created very special gardens. We are fortunate to have 150 year old olive and fig trees...and depending on when you come to stay, you will enjoy our lilocks, peonies, jasmin, roses, hydrangeas, lavender, clematis, white and purple wisterias, palm and banana trees. You are welcome to pick fruit from the trees in our orchard (cherry, apricot, peach, plumb, apple, pear, fig, pomegranate). The HIRON is situated in the Gers, which is referred to in French literature as the Tuscany of France. We are 40 min from the Agen TGV train station, 1h15min from the Toulouse airport, 2h30min from Bordeaux (wine region and the Atlantic ocean), and 5h from Barcelona.The Gers is known for the beauty of its countryside and villages, its tranquility, and art de vivre - this is the region of Armagnac and duck, notably foie gras! The house is 9km from Lectoure, a historic village famous for its 18th century cathedral and its melons! Lectoure has local food stores and a supermarket. Activities - local food markets in Lectoure and Fleurance, visit of historic villages including Terraube, Laroque Engalin, Marsolan,Valence sur Baise, the Flaran Abbey, cloisters of La Romieu, golf, river boat trips, walks, and biking Amenities: laundry, parking, TV, internet, housekeeper/cook (upon request) And if you are interested, there is a hidden artist's atelier...
