Emerald Hills Cottage
A peaceful retreat, set on a country road, just a short walk to Koonwarra Village. There is a garden and a courtyard to the cottage and you are welcome to explore the main garden and the vegetable garden area - say hello to the alpacas and chooks. In winter, a wood fire will be set and ready for you to light. House is fully self-contained with 2 bedrooms and all the comforts of home. As not mentioned previously, the nightly fee for children under 16 is $25. Continental breakfast is included (DIY) for the first morning . You are welcome to use most of the 3 acre property, except via closed gates and doors. Feeding the alpacas and gathering eggs (in season) is encouraged. When the vegetables are growing well, you are welcome to help yourself. We will welcome you and show you to the cottage, offer to help in any way then leave you to your privacy. We will always be available with travel advice or local information. Our closest neighbours are koalas, kookaburras and the cows across the road. There are country markets on weekends in the area, and fresh organic vegetables and fruit available at the local village shop. Good food and drink and artisans' workshops to explore and enjoy. Supermarket shopping is 10 minutes away. There is a bus from Koonwarra into Leongatha and Meeniyan about 3 times daily. One way only. A car is quite necessary for sight seeing. There is an historic rail trail for bike riding or walking close by which terminates at Welshpool. Koonwarra is about 8kms from Leongatha. There is a large blue road sign alerting E.H. Cottage in 200m, then move into left lane and turn left into Old Koonwarra/ Meeniyan Road. Cross two small bridges and in 2kms, turn left into Egan's Rd. We are first house on the right on Egan's Road. Wilson's Promontory, Tidal River: 1 hour (URL HIDDEN)
