Peaceful in Paddington
The entire top level of this quintessential Brisbane home is a self-contained 3-bedroom home with a large back deck for entertaining. The house has a fully renovated kitchen and bathroom, but still keeps the traditional style of the home. Paddington is one of the most sought-after suburbs in Brisbane. It is a leafy inner-city suburb full of cafes, restaurants, boutiques and bars. A leisurely stroll will take you to the beautiful Roma St Parklands, Southbank or the CBD. Pets on application. The space comprises three large bedrooms (two with french doors opening onto the verandah), an open plan living/kitchen/deck area with servery, large bathroom with bathtub and separate toilet. The top level of the house is completely private and separate from downstairs. The exception to this is the laundry which is located downstairs and shared with us (we live on the bottom level). There is a separate fold-out clothesline on the front veranda upstairs. Great care was taken during the building in of downstairs to ensure sound does not transfer between floors. Double layers of extra thick plaster, spray foam insulation, acoustic ceiling mounts and acoustic seals on the ground floor doors and windows were used and are effective. Guests will have access to the entire top level of the house which is fully self-contained. Check-in is flexible through keyless lock entry so you do not have to worry about delayed flights or traffic. We are always very happy to assist our guests with anything they need, but are also respectful of their space and privacy. Just tell us what works for you! Paddington is one the earliest areas settled in Brisbane. The main street is dotted with quaint old buildings offering a surprising variety of goods and services ranging from fashion to restaurants, curios and antiques. Further along, Caxton Street nightlife abounds with something on offer for all with bars, clubs and live venues. The rolling and leafy hills of Paddington, Rosalie and nearby Red Hill are speckled with quaint cottages turned enticing shopfronts, restaurants spilling out onto the footpath, traditional tin and timber houses, and renovated Queenslander homes. Visitors will love browsing for quirky keepsakes, vintage and designer fashion, antique and second-hand treasures, retro goods, homewares, and artwork. Rosalie Village is a pocket of streets tucked behind Paddington, featuring a great range of international cuisines and a gourmet market. Paddington is well serviced by public transport but also placed within walking/bike range of many of the citys highlights. Bicycle: Bikes are a great way to get around this part of Brisbane and exploring the many ingenious bike paths is a cool way to travel. (Southbank is an easy 14 minutes.) Brisbane City Council has a bike hire scheme set up around Brisbane. Airport: Brisbane Domestic and International airports are approximately 20 minutes by car. It usually costs about $35 by Uber (a bit more in a regular taxi). Alternatively, you can catch the Airport train to Roma St station and then change for the #61 Ashgrove bus which will drop you at the shops a few minutes walk from the house. If you choose this option please let us know and we can give you some directions. Car: We have on-street parking available in our neighbourhood so if you have your own car, parking is easy. You need a parking permit for the vehicle though, and we can provide that to you when you arrive. Public transport: Buses are the most convenient public transport option for this area. There is an inner-city bus route #61 which will take you to the CBD and to main inner-city tourist destinations such as Southbank, and the Museum precinct within 15 minutes. The buses are very frequent (approximately every 10-20minutes depending on the time of day). We will provide a Go Card on request which will make it easier for you to use the buses, trains and ferries in Brisbane. The house is located within a short walk to Suncorp stadium.
