"Cedrus" Garden Studio

The "Cedrus" Garden Studio is a comfortably functional apartment on the garden level of a private villa, located in the midst of a unique organic botanical forest garden. In Fanar, at 200m above sea level, just 20 minutes away from downtown Beirut, it is the perfect blend of central cityscape and green country living. It is ideal for holidays, business trips, and retreats, as it is far from the city's noise and crowd, yet close to cultural and tourist attractions, sports facilities, shops etc. The "Cedrus" Garden Studio invites you to unwind in a cozy atmosphere surrounded by a cheerful and colorful garden landscape. Its 55 m2 include a main room furnished with a comfy double bed and bedside lamp, sets of shelves that divide the room, a sofa that can accommodate a third person, two side tables, two stools, a chest of drawers, and a table and chair. The very spacious en-suite bathroom with tub has a granite-topped vanity with drawers and a large mirror. The separate friendly kitchen with modern cabinets and a granite top is equipped with a stove and a fridge. A walk-in closet offers ample hanging space and shelves. Stepping outside onto the quaint little patio opens up new experiences and allows you to reconnect with nature. Enjoy the enchanting birdsong, marvel at the elegant dance of butterflies, and watch the leisurely stroll of turtles. In the gardens, tree houses, benches, hammocks, and a barbecue area add to the charm of the place. The garden studio is centrally heated to ensure an agreeable indoor climate in winter. A ceiling fan provides comforting air movement in summer. The unique organic botanical forest garden showcases a large variety of subtropical fruit trees, as well as, ornamental and fragrant trees and plants. Different seasons offer different olfactory and visual experiences. We also keep chickens, turkeys, rabbits, bees, as well as, turtles, cats and a family dog in his enclosure in our small urban organic farm. The natural balance maintained in our gardens provides good living conditions for the nectar-feeding hummingbirds, for hedgehogs, tree frogs, dragonflies, ladybugs and butterflies. The "Cedrus" Garden Studio is located at the heart of a private gated family property and has its own independent access. Several paved areas in the gardens are accessible to guests; other areas are off-limits and restricted to the family and staff (the animal dens, the greenhouse, and the fruit orchards). Guided garden visits can be arranged. One parking spot will be assigned to you on the premises. Guests are not allowed to park on the premises. Street parking is available. We will personally meet you at the gate to our premises to give you a short introduction to our domain and hand you a set of keys to your home away from home. While we live on the premises and are happy to help you in any way possible, we ask you to respect our privacy, as we are happy to respect yours. Check-In: between 3-10 pm; Checkout: by 11 am. Other times can be arranged. Whether you're an artist looking for inspiration, a vacationer, a tourist, or a business traveler, Fanar is a very convenient and central location. You will find most of your everyday needs in the vicinity (supermarkets, pharmacies, phone shops, hairdressers, fashion boutiques, stationary and books, etc.). Malls and movie theaters are only a few car minutes away. Downtown Beirut, beach clubs, ski slopes, weekly markets, as well as, museums, festivals, and other tourist and cultural attractions are easily attainable by car or bus. Though traffic can be quite dense in Beirut, the approximate travel times to and from Fanar are very reasonable. For daily shopping needs: 5 minutes. To Downtown Beirut, the airport, restaurants, and cultural landmarks: 15-30 minutes. Ski or beach resorts: 40-60 minutes. Most tourist destinations: 45-120 minutes. Local taxi service is reliable. Rates vary between 5-10$ (for shopping), 10-12$ (to the city), 15$ (to the airport). Public transportation is within walking distance from our location. Details provided in the House Manual and on site when you arrive. ADDITIONAL AMENITIES: Hair dryer, iron, ironing board, extra pillows, and blankets are available free of charge. Please let us know in advance what you need. LAUNDRY ROOM: The washing machine in our laundry room is available upon request and at a charge of 4$ per load to cover the cost of water, electricity, and detergent. Your name, date and time of use, and signature are to be entered into the ledger in the laundry room. Payment in cash at checkout. Long-term tenants settle once a month. CLEANING: You are expected to keep your rental unit well aerated and clean however long you stay. Towels will be replaced once per week, bed linen once per fortnight. Long term tenants will be charged an additional cleaning fee of 20$ at the beginning of every new month. Payment in cash, on cleaning day. We reserve the right to enter any rental unit at any time to check and service the space and will contact you before entering. LONG TERM RENTALS: Check with us if you wish to rent for longer than a month. ADDITIONAL OVERNIGHT GUESTS: The rental fee is for 1 to 2 guests staying. Additional guests pay an additional fee as outlined in the pricing section and have to be approved by the host. Payment to be settled before arrival. Infants stay for free. EXTERNAL DAY GUESTS: External day guests are not allowed on the premises without prior approval from the host. OUTDOOR LOUNGES: Some of our outdoor lounges are accessible to overnight guests and can be used from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. Please don't litter and leave the areas just as you found them or better. Report any damages as soon as they occur. Use the outdoor ashtrays to discard you cigarette butts and empty them into the outdoor garbage bins as soon as they're cold. Please don’t keep cold cigarette ash or butts inside the rental units. The use of candles is not allowed. BREAKFAST LOUNGE: The ‘Breakfast Lounge’ is a charming space surrounded by a Bauhinia tree and a Jacaranda tree and is covered with an Aristolochia vine, all of which offer welcome shading. It is a paved area that is equipped with a table, two chairs and two benches. It offers natural light only. PERGOLA LOUNGE: The ‘Pergola Lounge’ located near the BBQ Grill is a spacious outdoor paved area with a wooden structure that is covered with a tiled roof. It is equipped with a large table, two benches, and two sideboards and has a large open space in front of it that adds a sense of vastness and charm. It offers lights and floodlights that can be lit at night. The BBQ with a metal grill and a chimney is charcoal-operated and offers two tiled counter tops. We charge 15$ for the use of this area to cover costs of cleaning, trash removal, lighting, floodlighting, safety monitoring, and normal wear and tear. Please bring your own charcoal to grill. Payment in cash prior to the use of the area. QUIET TIME The quiet time applicable on our premises is between 10:00 pm to 6:00 am. We kindly ask you to observe and respect this window of time that constitutes an essential regeneration time for all plants and creatures living on our premises. BREAKFAST: Breakfast is not included in the room rate. Should you wish to enjoy a Mediterranean breakfast prepared at home with a selection of homegrown produce, Lebanese homemade products, as well as, locally produced ingredients and fine international products, please inform us when you book or latest at noon for breakfast the next day. Breakfast will be served in your rental unit at your time of choice between 9-11 am. Price per person: 12$ payable in cash at checkout. ORGANIC PRODUCTS: Should you wish to purchase organic products from our eco-farm and eco-kitchen, please contact us. We offer fresh eggs, seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, honey, and homemade jams. We also sell organic gardening products and organic lifestyle items. COMPLIMENTARY: Water, instant coffee, tea, and herbal infusions, as well as, sugar, salt, and pepper are offered complimentary when you arrive.
