Greyhound Cottage, Carbost

Greyhound Cottage is an ideal base for exploring Skye with many things to see and do close by. It is perfect for couples, families (including dogs) or groups of friends. Greyhound Cottage is situated on the shore of Loch Harport and has great views down the loch towards the Red Cuilin Hills. We respect your privacy so will always try and greet you then leave you to enjoy your stay. We live just across the road so if you need anything at all please come over and ask. Greyhound cottage is situated on the loch side of Carbost, with splendid sea views. It is two doors along from The Old Inn which is open all year and serves breakfast lunch and dinner along with fine ales. It has music on twice a week in the winter months and more often in the summer. Talisker Distillery just 500m down the road and Skye Spa Therapies is just opposite the cottage and offers beauty and massage treatments. The Cuillin Ridge is just 9 miles away with walks starting from Glenbrittle beach or Sligachin, including The Fairy Pools. There is a local bus service twice a day to Portree. There is a small shop and petrol pump In the village that sells the basics. It is open from around 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday and closes at 1pm Saturday and Sunday. If you want to stock up on provisions for your stay we would recommend you stop at one of the supermarkets in Kyle of Lochalsh, Broadford or Portree.
