Enjoy the comfort of a two bedroom apartment, with its own entrance, in a two-family home. *Please note: This is a ground floor apartment BUT IT IS DOWN A FULL FLIGHT OF STAIRS. **Please note: My house has on-street parking. Please park on the house side of the street, within the frontage of my property in deference to my neighbors. Make a quick trip to the market or have all the provisions delivered to the door by Shoprite or Stop & Shop. The kitchen has all the tools you'll need. Set up the crock pot in the morning for dinner to be ready when you return from a day of exploration. Use the gas grill for a cookout. Soak in the claw foot tub and get a restful sleep for another great day. I'll be available if needed but out of your way. Let me know your arrival time and I'll have the place cozy and ready. Please let me know if you'll be celebrating a special occasion. This is an old neighborhood populated with charming and diverse early 20th century construction homes and no two look alike. The neighborhood and residents are quirky and genuine. *Please note, if you prefer contemporary developments, my neighborhood won't be to your taste. My home was built in 1905. It's a humble but comfortable home. The side yard is a meadow of wild flowers. There's a Starbuck's, two Dunkin Donuts, Dairy Queen, Popeye's, McDonald's, Wendy's, Burger King, Five Guys, Little Caesar's, Moe's, Chipotle and 99 Restaurant all within three miles. There's a great northern Italian restaurant within walking distance as well as a great Peruvian retaurant and a good Irish pub about a mile away. Mohegan Sun hosts numerous restaurants and shopping and is just 10 minutes away. There are many great destinations in Connecticut but you'll need a car. Our bus system is terrible. Mohegan Sun is 10 minutes away; Foxwoods is about 18 minutes. Both Uber and Lyft operate here. In New London, the Garde Arts Center is about 19 minutes away, Connecticut College, The Coast Guard Academy and Lyman Allyn Museum are about 17 minutes away. It's only half an hour to Mystic (Seaport and Aquarium); an hour to New Haven (Toad's Place, Yale, craft brewery, entertainment and night life); 30 minutes to Hartford (Trinity College, City Steam craft brewery, entertainment at XL Center and night life); 20 minutes to Willimantic (Eastern Connecticut State University, Willibrew craft brewery); 40 minutes to Storrs (UConn). Explore the CT Wine Trail, Beer Trail or hike at Devil's Hopyard or Lantern Hill. In Essex, just 40 minutes away, visit the CT River Museum, charming shops and the Griswold Inn, (one of the oldest bars in the country) where The Jovial Crew performs sea chanteys and other maritime music every Monday from 8 to 11 p.m. It's a unique form of entertainment that draws visitors from around the world. Visit Gillette's Castle or catch a great show at The Goodspeed Opera House or Ivoryton Playhouse. You'll be well located for the next leg of your vacation continuing on to Boston, Providence, New York, New Hampshire or Vermont. Full bed, twin loft and twin over full futon bunk allow for a family of five to stay comfortably at a great low price.
