Cosy chalet in the heart of Evolène

Our wonderful family chalet in the heart of Evolène (1400m altitude) is a former hostel built more than 100 years ago. In 2016, we refurbished it completely, conserving its old charm while adding a contemporary note. The house is easily accessible by public transport and serves as a perfect based to explore the surrounding mountains. The house is spacious and luminous, with four double rooms, 2 bathrooms, a large living room, kitchen, attic, balconies and garden. With over 150sqm the chalet can easily host eight people ore more. It has four levels: - Lower ground floor: large double room (22squm), bathroom, separate toilet. Direct access to the garden. Baby cot can be added. There is a laundry room with a large refrigerator. - Ground floor: fully equipped kitchen (16sqm) with stove, dishwasher), openly accessible from the large living room (27sqm) which has a large table, alcoves, fireplace. Main entrance and access to balcony. - First floor: three bedrooms (11, 10 and 5sqm), bathroom with toilet and bathtub, library. One of the double rooms has a baby cot. - Attic: large modern space (26sqm) with TV and dormitory (six matresses without bedsheets). The attic comprises a sort of a large net that serves as a hammock to relax. - Garden: small garden with wooden terrace at the back of the chalet. - View: great views of the mountains (Dent Blance, others) from various rooms. - Comfort and equipment: WIFI, kitchen accessories, bed sheets, games, books / cartoons, equipment for children (baby cot, chairs, bathtub, toys). Triple glazing, full insulation, heat pump, old wooden floors. All parts of the chalet are accessible to guests. We will not be present during your stay but can be reached for anything you need. Evolène and the Val d'Hérens offer pristine nature and authentic villages. Numerous activities for all seasons (hiking, alpinism, moutain biking, etc. in summer; three ski resorts, 40km of cross-country slopes, ice rink, etc. in winter). There are several good restaurants and various shops (grocery stores, bakeries, pharmacy, doctor). A large Coop supermarket is open every day during the high season. Playground with slides, football pitch and other installations nearby as well. The bus stop "Evolène Les Flantzes" is within 5 min walking distance. There is no parking spot in front of the chalet, but free parking space is available 300m away. It takes around 1h30 from Lausanne, 2m from Geneva or Bern and 3h from Basel or Zurich to reach Evolène.
