Private, restored, stone house set on a working farm yet close to the village of Red Hook, the heart of great eats and the attributes of the Historic Hudson Valley. We offer fresh eggs, snacks in fridge, a great swimming pond and fire pit for evening relaxation. Red Hook & the neighboring towns of Rhinebeck, Tivoli, & Hudson make for a great night out as well. Currently, we are limiting our space to no more than 10 guests and prohibit groups and gatherings of larger size. Many thanks! Hardeman Homestead is a cozy yet spacious farmhouse nestled on the fringes of town. The house has three upstairs bedrooms, each with a double bed that sleeps two. The third bedroom, the Great Room, is a suite with a single bed built into the wall for one adult or two children, and an adjacent double bed that sleeps two. This is a great space for a family with small children or babies. This room also houses a T.V., games, and an assortment of books for rainy days. An adjoining bathroom has a shower only. Clean, fresh, towels and linens are provided for all guests. A first floor bedroom with single bed accommodates an individual that may not want to climb stairs. The living room has a pullout couch that can sleep two & an additional couch could accommodate a small child. The downstairs bath has both full tub and shower. There is a living room w/ wood burning fireplace, dining room, full kitchen, bbq grill, and back porch for warm weather eating. We have a small fire pit behind the house and fishing pond nearby...please inquire. Our larger swimming pond with dock and the adjoining creek are located across the road toward the back of the orchard. Searching (Hidden by Airbnb) maps or using our written directions at the house will help you navigate the orchard roads. Currently, we have to limit our guest size to no more than 10 and events and parties are not allowed. Our house sits off a long private drive yet central to many of the main highways, bi-ways, and nearby train station. NYC & Albany are but a ride away. Our area boasts an array of dining experiences from cozy coffee shops to fine dining. A short drive will get you to any of the Great Estates, museums, restaurants, & shopping. Enjoy Catskill Mt. hikes, our NYS parks, skiing and more... In warm weather months, enjoy a walk in the orchard or swim the pond... Fall time is for apple picking, pressed cider, and pies upon request. We have plenty of room and land to romp in any season whether it is our summer trail mowed to a fishing pond or leaf-littered farm road around the orchard in Fall. Winter snow allows for snow shoeing and cross country skiing as well. With prior planning, we can help tailor your stay by providing recommendations to our favorite sites & haunts.... Once we greeted all our guests... however, now we have you self check-in with a sign-in sheet and welcome binder with all the info. and contacts you may need. This will be left on the dining table. We all live on the property and are close by if and when you have any questions. The kitchen awaits with ground coffee and an array of teas in the cupboard. The fridge will be stocked with fresh bread, cream, butter, juice, and farm eggs. We try to have snacks and/or breakfast fixings at the ready...of course we can make available alternatives upon request. Hardeman Homestead is located on a working farm so the occasional ducks, goose, chickens, and cow meander by. Our guests are welcome to explore the farm property which spans both sides of route 199. Farmer John has his tractor and haywagon in action too. Weekends in the fall season only, the haywagon rides guests through the orchard for viewing leaves and apple picking. With all the hustle and bustle of farm life, we ask all our guests to be mindful when traversing up the driveway or orchard roads to the swimming pond .....thank you Red Hook is a small agricultural town with coffee shops, restaurants, groceries, pharmacy, and theatre. It is also a college town as Bard College is but two miles away. It is close to many fun places to explore; all the Historic Hudson River mansions and NYS parks that line the river, Catskill mountain hiking and train tour, Local swimming holes, Rhinebeck Aerodrome, lots of shops, Tivoli Bay Kayaking, Woodstock village, antiquing, Sheep and Wool festival, Rondout water front, boat rides on the Hudson River, lighthouse tours, music & theatre and more. oh yeah...did I mention the great food? A car is the best way to get around. Though there is a bus and cab service too. We are 6 miles from the Rhinecliff train station that runs from NYC to Albany. The Kingston-Rhinecliff bridge over the Hudson River requires a car to cross as well...A bicycle gets you into the village and around the farm... There are numerous things to do and places to explore & enjoy...whether you are a family needing a "quiet getaway" or one in need of restful rejuvenation... let us be your destination....however currently we are limiting the space to no more than 10 guests and gatherings larger are prohibited. Please be respectful of this limitation during these trying (Website hidden by Airbnb) is much appreciated
