Nestled in the Teme Valley in the corner of three counties, The Tallots Barn is a peaceful haven, neighbouring a working farm. The old cow shed our family home has the most dark skies and noisy owls by night, and all the action of the sheep farm during the day, whilst having a charming serene garden with free range chickens. The large bedroom has vaulted ceiling with exposed beams and there is use of a private bathroom. Breakfast is served in the family dining room. Your room has a snug seating area, tea/coffee making facilities the private bathroom is in the corridor, due to the nature of the old building the wide wooden floor boards are uneven. Breakfast of cereals, yogurt, fruit juice, toast, homemade marmalade and good coffee is served in the family dining room or on sunny days guests are welcome to breakfast on the terrace. Ample off road parking at the bottom of the driveway, for cars, trailers, bikes and electric cars can be charged overnight if required. We will be available during your stay and will serve a continental breakfast in the dining room, self-serve tea/coffee will be in your room. We are happy to chat with guests drink tea and coffee and can advise on local attractions, walks places to dine. Arrival and Dept times can be flexible by arrangement but generally are as follows: Arrival time: 4pm onwards. Departure time: Before 10:30. The Tallots in St. Michaels is surrounded by footpaths with the town in the orchard under 2 miles across the lovely common. St. Michaels village is home to the Saint Michaels Cathedral Church. Tenbury Wells is a pretty market towns with cafes, pubs, restaurants and a museum, round market hall and attractive river side. There are several nice pubs for dinner, The Fountain Inn is a popular place and 1/2 hr walk. A short drive 10 min drive is The Stockton Cross a bistro style pub. Tenbury Wells is home to Indian, Thai, pizza and and fish and a chip shop. Stockton Bury Gardens is the perfect place for garden and plant lovers to spend a few hours. Burford House garden centre and Frank Matthews Trees store are both within a 10 min drive. Less than 10 miles away Ludlow is a thriving medieval market town an architectural gem with events and festivals throughout the year. The historic town centre and the 11th century Ludlow Castle are situated on a cliff above the River Teme and are surrounded by the beautiful countryside of south Shropshire and the Welsh Marches. Ludlow is an excellent base for walking and cycling; as well as exploring the rest of Shropshire and the Welsh Marches. The drive is restricted to 10mph due to this also being a footpath, working farm and campsite. A bus serves Tenbury Wells the market town is 2 miles north and collection can be prearranged. Guests must enjoy the sounds of the English countryside including clucking hens, hooting owls, sheep and song thrushes. Guests also need to be mindful there are some sloping floors, steps and uneven surfaces. You may be sharing your breakfast table with our family and friends.
