The comfy king size bed is perfect to sink into after a busy day exploring or working. The en suite boasts its own bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin. For business travellers or those looking to stay a bit longer, we offer ample storage as well as a comfortable desk to work from. The shared spaces of our home offers a multitude of areas where one can relax, including two lounges and a courtyard. While meals can be taken in the dining room or a breakfast are in the spacious and fully equipped kitchen. There are also additional shared bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. Afro-victorian decor, wooden floors and high ceilings throughout, each respectively retaining warmth in winter and allowing cool in summer. Also, our loving pup, Latte, will welcome you with lots of kisses! Guests have access to the shared areas of our home and the room they've booked only. Other bedrooms are off limits. Our property manager Thandie - who works remotely from Johannesburg - will be available to assist (via Airbnb's messaging service, telephonically or (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)) with any platform-related enquiries guests may have. Mum Sthokozo, who stays on the property, will also be available to assist with more immediate matters. Glenwood has undergone a complete rejuvenation of the suburb’s old Victorian splendour merging seamlessly with new and exciting hotspots. The suburb is conveniently located minutes away from Durban’s CBD and overlooking its harbour as well being only a short drive way from the beaches along Durban’s shoreline. There are two malls nearby - Musgrave Centre and Glenwood Village Shopping Centre. Both of which house a grocery store, pharmacy, hair and nail salon, florist, printing store and ATMs, as well as restaurants and a bar. In addition to these, Musgrave Centre also has a foreign exchange, cinema and various boutiques and services. UBER is the easiest way to get around Durban. Most destinations within the city will cost between R30-R70 one way. Anything less is likely within walking distance. For independent travellers, a RENTAL CAR is a convenient option. There are several companies available at the airport and throughout the city centre. Good names to look out for are Thrifty, Avis, First Car Rental, Tempest and Europcar. Car rental rates start at R300 for an entry-level car. The DURBAN PEOPLE MOVER shuttle bus operates along several routes within the city centre. Tickets (R16) can be purchased on board and allow you to get on and off as many times as you like within a day. Single-leg tickets cost R5.50. The service runs daily between 5am and 10pm. A regular shuttle bus (King Shaka Airport Shuttle) runs to and from the airport regularly.
