A perfect place to visit outside school holidays Il Castellaccio is a beautiful and totally secluded family villa in the hills above Spoleto. It sits in its own land, surrounded by oak and chestnut forests full of wild flowers, and has a ruined 12th century watchtower. Minutes from Spoleto, it is a perfect place to stay for the famous Festival dei Due Mondi and for touring Umbria. One can walk for miles into the Appenines, with staggering views into the Valnerina, or down to Spoleto through the forest. Mountain biking heaven. The area is full of excellent restaurants, lovely hill towns and famous vineyards. A perfect touring base Guests will have the use of the whole house and grounds. Vallocchia is one of the most beautiful spots in Umbria. The home is completely away from it all yet only 12 minutes from Spoleto. The night skies are superb, and it is a great place to chill out and totally relax. A car is essential. We are 40 minutes from Perugia airport. The road to the house is easy, and only 10 minutes from the main Spoleto - Foligno fast road. Connections to Rome are easy via car or fast direct train from Spoleto
