A walk of about 1.5 miles to Humphrey Head: Nice walk from cottage to Humphrey Head, go up to the pub entrance, take next right down a road. Go past fencing and barn until you see a footpath sign on right by a tall hedge. Go down there and over a stile. Go across field keeping to left. Cross another stile and keep left across another field and through a gap in the wall. Cross the lane and keeping fence on left and trees on right go under railway bridge, through farmers small field toward farmhouse then through wall on left onto ‘ beach’.Keeping wall on your right keep going until a gate on the right , go through and keep going uphill slightly on footpath. At end of footpath you’ll come to a road, turn left then left again after a few steps, over a cattle grid signed outdoor centre( it says private, but you’ll see it’s the way to Humphrey Head). Before outdoor centre cut right across grass and follow the path onto the Head. You’ll see a wood on the left and coast on the right. You can access the walk through the woods from both ends of the woods or stick to the ‘path’ up to the trig point. Come back same way or via the road you came to after the narrow path.Follow road for about a mile with railway on the right across the field. After a sort of flat bridge across a stream turn right, across crossing on railway line, past a farm and windy lane takes you back to entrance to the cottage. Parachute jumping at Flookburgh, 4 minutes away. www.skydive (Website hidden by Airbnb) This experience is very nearby and received good reviews (Website hidden by Airbnb) Your satnav may want to take you left directly after the Pheasant pub. Ignore and follow the main road up the hill, through a narrow bit of road, down to a crossroads. Take the road on the left marked Humphrey Head and Holy Well.About 100 yards on you will see a gravelled entrance on the left with sign to Humphrey cottage.Turn in here through the entrance with the 6 bar gate & cattle grid and continue up the lane with the orchard on your right.Humphrey Cottage is number 3 in a row of 4 cottages ahead of you. Please park on the drive in front of the cottage.
