5 miles from Loch Lomond Spacious, warm & comfortable 2 bed / 2 bath apartment with uninterrupted views of the River Leven & Dumbarton Castle (former home of Mary Queen of Scots). Opening windows allow you to enjoy the sound of the flowing river of this ancient capital of Strathclyde. There is a great choice of restaurants, bars & convenience stores within walking distance with 3 major supermarkets within 5 minutes drive. 5 minutes walk to trains & buses that access many Scottish attractions. My 2 bed/ 2 bath flat is on the 3rd floor with access from the residents parking area. Please note there is no lift in the building. Central entrance hall leads to large lounge with huge bay window overlooking the river, castle and to the Kilpatrick hills beyond. A sofa, chaise lounge, armchair, two coffee tables, dining table and chairs complete this light filled room. Leading off the lounge is a separate kitchen with gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and Krups coffee machine using Dolce Gusto pods. Plenty of utensils and pans if you wish to cook while enjoying the views over the public gardens. The central hallway leads to Master bedroom with King size bed, quality bed linens, built in wardrobes and en-suite shower room with toilet, basin and heated towel rail. The second bedroom with double bed and built in wardrobe overlooks the river. The fully tiled house bathroom has a bath, toilet and hand basin. There is a lock box in place for self checkin. Dumbarton is a historic town on the river Leven, which flows into the river Clyde. There are plenty of restaurants, bars and public transport options for those who do not wish to drive. The beautiful Levengrove park, which sits between the 2 rivers, is a short walk and has a very nice cafe. Situated just a few miles from Loch Lomond Dumbarton provides a perfect base to explore the many highlights of Scotland including nearby Glasgow, Trossachs National Park, the seaside town of Helensburgh and the west highland way walking track along the shores of Loch Lomond. Slightly further afield are Edinburgh, Stirling, Oban and Fort William where you can experience the Harry Potter train. Free parking is available on site. The bus or train station are 5 minutes walk away offering two trains per hour to Balloch ( Loch Lomond ) or Helensburgh. Four trains per hour to Glasgow and 2 per hour to Edinburgh. Glasgow International airport is approximately 12 miles from Dumbarton. There is no lift / elevator in the block of flats and approx 50 stairs from the car park to the front door of the flat. There is a shower over the bath in the main bathroom and a separate en-suite shower in the main bedroom.
