If you are craving a getaway with a special someone, this space is meticulously clean and an opportunity to practice social distancing while relaxing and enjoying the Farmington River. Only 15 minutes from Bradley airport, 5 minutes from the train and I91. Nature, dining, all within a comfortable drive. You get it all here! Private space with its own entrance, one bedroom and newly updated bathroom, a cozy living room with fireplace in a Garden Level Unit. Off street parking available. In a addition to a comfortable bedroom with one full size bed and a full private bathroom, you will have a small fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. There is also a small crock pot and an electric induction burner for cooking small meals. There is a gas grill outside, which we can share. In addition to al fresco dining setup there is a counter height table with two stools and also two very comfortable couches for eating in front of the tv or fire place, or for napping! You will have complete privacy in this one-bedroom mini apartment with an electronic lock for safety and convenience. There is a security camera outside as well. While there is no full kitchen, you will have access to the basics, as well as wonderful outdoor space. There is WiFi, and tv programming through streaming. I live upstairs though the spaces are separate. I am available to help out with any questions you may have. I do have one dog, Mr. Magoo, who is older, visually impaired, and very friendly! You may also see a new addition, my cat August! He is very curious and loves peeking in to see what’s going on. The deck area may be shared by me, but there is ample space for privacy, even on the decks. The back yard to the river is kept pretty natural but there is stair access to the river. This is a family neighborhood, my house sits on a private street at the end of another, so there is not much traffic at my end. I am only a five minute drive from downtown Windsor, where every Thursday afternoon you can enjoy the farmer's market (seasonal). There are cute coffee shops and restaurants and a beautiful green to enjoy. There is kayaking and fishing, depending on the time of year, and lots of bird life. I have seen blue herons, bald eagles, and plenty of geese and ducks, in addition to woodpeckers, cardinals, bluejays, finches, and more. Flocks of wild turkeys love to hang out in my yard in the spring. For a more urban feel, West Hartford and South Windsor are about a 10-20 minute drive, depending on traffic. Lots of small shops and restaurants lining the streets. And many festivals in summer, beautiful fall foliage and postcard winters! Public transportation is very convenient. The train station is in the center of town, as well as plenty of city buses to take you into Hartford. Biking is popular, as is canoeing and kayaking. I would also be happy to point out great restaurants and places to visit. Please note that there is no full kitchen, there is a sink is in the laundry room and one induction burner and the grill outside. There is also a dehumidifier running constantly, which may need to be emptied while you are there. If full, let me know and I will take care of it, or I can show you what to do, it is easy enough. If it stops running and you don't realize it, nothing will happen, it only impacts how cool the air feels. For people wishing to stay for longer than a week, laundry will be shared with me.
