Cosy and comfortable cottage in the heart of Ellesmere. Plenty of character - original part of the building dating back to the late 1700's but with all the modern amenities you could wish for. Beautiful surroundings with Mere and canal walks close by. Ellesmere has pubs, eateries and independent shops and is served by supermarkets, all within just minutes walking. Shrewsbury, Chester and glorious North Wales are all within easy driving distance. A real home from home, Apple Tree Cottage will be entirely yours for your stay. A welcome pack is provided of tea, coffee and sugar along with salt and pepper. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cater for yourselves. There is a washer/dryer for your convenience and if you are staying longer than a week, fresh bedding and towels will be provided. One parking space at the bottom of the garden but there is a public car park very near with very cheap rates. Smart TV so you can access Netflix, Amazon etc with your own accounts The cottage is very convenient for all the facilities of the town. Tesco can be accessed very easily on foot from the back gate. I live locally and can always be contacted if you need anything but I will completely respect your privacy whilst you are staying Ellesmere has the largest mere outside of the Lake District with many others locally. Moscow Island on The Mere is a famous breeding place for Herons. The Shropshire Union and Llangollen canals also provide wonderful walks and cycling opportunities. The cottage is a stone's throw from the historic White Hart Inn. The Boathouse restaurant and cafe at The Mere is perfect for lunch or just a coffee overlooking the water. There are great walks and cycle routes all around the area and cycles can be hired from A Mere Cycle in the town. Buses run from Ellesmere to Shrewsbury and Oswestry and Road links to those towns, Chester, the Shropshire Hills, Snowdonia and the coast are close by. It is really important that you read the listing details fully before booking and ask any questions you need to. I do welcome up to 2 well-behaved dogs at the property (dogs only) but please keep them off the beds. The cottage sleeps 4 and I do not allow additional people to stay. A high chair and travel cot (without bedding) are available on request but the cottage does not have any additional safety measures for little ones. There is NO stair gate. You will need to supervise your children and pets. Please note that as per the photos, the shower is over the bath. There is not a walk-in shower and there are no plans for there to be one. All stays must comply with any Government COVID guidelines in place at the time of the stay. Please note the property is on a well-used road and is close to the middle of town with it's pubs and eateries etc. It is a terrace and the windows at the front are not double or triple glazed (it was built in 1741) therefore there will be the possibility of some noise from outside and the neighbours. If this will bother you then please reconsider whether this is the place for you.
