16th century cosy stone cottage with large private garden, includes lounge with log burner, kitchen and separate dining room. Pretty sun room ideal for morning coffees. Two bedrooms, one twin, and one king size. Shower and toilet upstairs. Bed settee is in the dining room. Will easily sleep 6 but seating is limited in the lounge. The main bath and shower room is downstairs. There is a large lawn to the front of the property with off road parking, the rear garden is private and has use of a BBQ. The guests have full use of the cottage and the large rear garden. Guests have full exclusive access to the enclosed garden to the rear of the property We live in the property next door, however once you have been shown around we are happy to leave you to enjoy your holiday. The cottage is ideally situated to explore both the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire countryside. The Peak District and the Derbyshire dales are within an easy drive, Matlock Bath being only 10 miles, the famous hideout of Robin Hood, Sherwood Forest is only 12 miles and Chatsworth house is a short drive through stunning countryside. There are also a number of stately homes within 25 mile radius including Hadden Hall, Newstead abbey and Caulk Abbey. The cottage is actually within walking distance of the Hardwick hall, which has been used in the filming of Harry Potter but more recently in Mary Queen of Scots. It has easy access to trails for walking and cycling, one being the Five pits trail which cuts through the village, offering off road tracks of 7.5 miles. There is another local trail which is part of the Phoenix greenways. There is locked storage for bikes on the property. We are within easy drive of three cities; Nottingham, Derby and Sheffield, all of which have great shopping centres as well as great museums and cultural interests such as Nottingham Castle. We are easily accessible from the M1 motorway. To get the full potential of your stay in the cottage I would recommend the use of a car or bike. There is public transport in the village which link with the local towns. We are also dog friendly - the garden is enclosed but due to layout and mixed style of fencing and walls, we cannot say it is secure. We do however request that you clear up after your dog and use the bin provided. Please can you let me know if you are bringing a dog as all guests get a welcome pack.
