Alpha Hse: 3 bedrooms, parking, study, beach

Set within the North York Moors National Park, walk to the beach and Cleveland Way, Alpha House is the perfect base for families and couples exploring the area. Alpha House is spacious, set over two floors with the living room & kitchen/diner, & toilet on the ground floor. Three bedrooms to the second floor & bathroom midway between the two. Sleeps 5 (+1). Fast WIFI A small study enables you to work if needed. Also garden area & off road parking space for one car. Walk to the beach in 20 mins, walk to the pub (Fylingdales Inn), village stores and bus stops in 5 mins. Sleeping: Three bedrooms give sleeping space for 5 people - one king, one small double bed, one single bed, +a trundle bed enables a 6th guest (see photos) The bathroom is on a lower level than the bedrooms. It is midway between the ground and first floor. It has a shower over the bath. Bedding and bathroom towels (one per person) are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. There is a second toilet on the ground floor in the utility area. Eating: There is a large kitchen with dining table, equipped with cooker, fridgefreezer, dishwasher and microwave. Work and Play: there is WIFI, a TV and DVDs / DVD player. Upstairs there is a small study with desk, suitable for those working whilst holidaying, or to use as a dressing area. General: There is a small garden area available to guests of Alpha House. Note the garden is not enclosed. It is on different levels and it has steps leading up to it from the roadside and steps down from the parking space. The front garden is at a height. Children should not be left unattended. There is parking for one car (please read the parking details received after booking). The house has central heating. There is also a small electric fire in the living room. A washing machine is located on the ground floor in the small utility area. Bedding and bathroom towels (one per person) are provided. Please bring your own beach towels. Please be aware that there are steps up to the house from the road and into it. There are steps down from the parking space. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. The house is attached to Alpha Cottage (also a holiday let - please enquire if you wish to hire both). The house is completely self contained with its own entrance. We work from home in an office to the side of Alpha Cottage. Please contact us before making your booking if you have any queries. You can access all parts of the house, as outlined on the the layout plan. Alpha House is attached to Alpha Cottage (our other holiday let = please enquire for more details. You can book both and sleep up to 9+1). Both properties share the short footpath in front of the courtyard space, and Alpha Cottage overlooks the garden of Alpha House. The house is completely self contained. We work from home in one of the outbuildings to the side of the cottage. There is a key lock available to enable you to access the house easily and flexibly. We live locally and should there be any problems we can be on hand. Set in the North York Moors National park, an area of superb countryside and coast, Alpha House is the perfect base for walking and cycling, or just enjoying being beside the sea. Located in Fylingthorpe, from this peaceful village, you can walk to the beach at Robin Hoods Bay, take in fabulous views walking along the coastal path (Cleveland Way) or cycling along the Cinder Track (the old railway line) towards Whitby or Ravenscar. All this is minutes from your door. Enjoy the seaside town of Whitby, the surrounding villages or moorland, all within easy reach by car, cycle or public transport (X93 Bus). Robin Hoods Bay, a quaint little fishing village, is located about a mile from the cottage. An easy walk there. Wander through the narrow streets and passages, enjoying the tea shops, gift shops and pubs. Explore rock pools, make sand sculptures, find fossils and jet or just paddle in the sea. Whitby is famous for Captain James Cook and Dracula, its Abbey and Whitby Jet. Board a boat trip, catch some surf and sand, or meander through the cobbled streets and treat yourself to a piece of Whitby Jet jewellery. You are surrounded by the beautiful North York Moors, steeped in history and with magnificent views, explore villages, market towns, jump aboard a steam train and follow in the cycle tracks of the "Tour de Yorkshire". Amenities within Fylingthorpe and a few mins walk from the cottage, include a village store, butcher / bakers, play area and a public house. More amenities can be found down the road at Robin Hoods Bay. The X93 bus route passes through the village, travelling along the coastline to Whitby and beyond, or to Scarborough. There is also a taxi firm in Robin Hoods Bay. Local Supermarkets are in Whitby: - the nearest is Sainsburys on the main road into Whitby from Fylingthorpe YO22 4NL. Open: Mon-Sat 8am–10pm, Sun 10am-4pm. Petrol station open daily 7am – 11pm. It is about 10 mins drive from the cottage Also Lidl on Stakesby Road in Whitby, YO21 1HS and a CO-OP food store in Whitby town centre, YO21 1DH. We don't have a cash point in the village - but both stores and the post office in Robin Hoods Bay will give cashback. - Access and layout: there are steps up to the house and into the property. This may make it not suitable for people who have difficulty climbing steps. The garden is not enclosed. Children should not be left unattended. Please see the layout plan and photos. - There is no cash point in the village. The nearest cash point is at Sainsburys in Whitby. Thorpe Stores - the village shop (at the end of the road) and Barnards, Bakers/Butchers (turn right at the bottom of the road) both do cash back. As does the Post Office in Robin Hoods Bay. - This is a 'self catering' holiday cottage. - Original artwork in the house. This can be purchased at the house and through our website Yorkshire Coasting.
