Forest, Detached Guest suite in 16th Cent. Granary

The Granary room is located on the outskirts of a market town in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, two miles east of Wales and close to the Wye Valley. The private on-suite was once the granary for the 16th-century Poolway Manor House to which it is attached. Located on the main road to town just a short drive to the heart of the forest which provides a fairy-tale-like backdrop in movies such as Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Merlin. Now fully renovated with clean modern comforts and luxurious bedding, this charming room embraces the house's historical character with its ancient oak wood beams and classic Georgian features. Between the lush Egyptian cotton sheets, waterfall shower, and gorgeous forest trails, this space provides the perfect weekend get-away or regenerative rest place for forest adventures or leisurely family outings. A mini kitchenette includes a microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery, utensils, and a 4L fridge that fits a pint of milk or some cans of coke. A short 5-min walk to restaurants, traditional pubs, natural food stores, Lidl, and Co-op. Located on the main road to town just a short drive to the heart of the forest. Off-road parking available directly in front of The Granary room. Additional parking available on request. My mum and dad, Mike and Nicola, live in the main house and are usually available to answer any questions or give a local's insight for the best trails and activities around. We don't want to be intrusive though, it's your holiday, so we'll let you come to us if you need anything. We're happy to help and make your stay comfortable. A48 from Gloucester, M4 through Bristol, A40 from Monmouth. Many local bus routes passing through Coleford to Monmouth, Ross-On-Wye, Hereford, Lydney, and Gloucester. The nearest Train Stations are Lydney and Gloucester which both require further transport. We have a King size bed and the option of a fold-out sofa which has an extra-luxurious mattress topper fitted with the same lovely Egyptian cotton bedding for a very comfortable sleep. Please note: The wifi can be temperamental at times. The second bed is a fold-out sofa bed - although providing a comfy sleep - does take a large part of the space so be prepared to fold it away each day for full enjoyment of the room. The pricing set is for 1 - 4 guests with no difference in pricing if you wish to make it four. That said, please do make sure you tick the right box according to the number of people who will be visiting and inform us of any changes. If you intend to use the sofa bed and book for two, just let us know, so that we can provide the necessary extras to ensure a comfy stay.
