La Vieille Grange - Peaceful Chambres D'Hotes

In the middle of the beautiful Normandy countryside, our house is a place of calm and relaxation. Sue and Brian welcome visitors who wish to take a break and relax or visit war memorials, beaches, restaurants or just relax before travelling further down south. We are also close to Mont St Michel (45 mins drive) and lovely sandy beaches. Check out our (Hidden by Airbnb) page for more information. We have 2 private bedrooms each with en suite shower room. Our family room has a double bed and two bunks which are full single bed size. Both rooms have tea/coffee making facilities. Continental breakfast, included in the price per person, can be served outside in our pretty sunken garden at the front of the house, or on the terrace outside the dining area, weather permitting! Guests have their own private bedroom. Continental breakfast is served in the dining area of our very large 'L' shaped kitchen. It was a barn which housed a tractor and a large cider press! There is a garden in which guests can relax before going out to dinner in our nearby towns of St Hilaire du Harcouet or Mortain. La Vieille Grange is our home. We ask that children are not left alone/unsupervised whilst the rest of the family go out for the day. We have an extensive knowledge of local history and the area. We can help with directions to war memorials, the landing beaches, Mont St Michel. There is an open air swimming pool at Mortain and an indoor pool at St Hilaire. Beautiful beaches are within 40 minutes to just over an hour from us. Mortain is steeped in history from WW2. Visit Hill 314 and be amazed at the fantastic view. The American Military Cemetery at St. James is half an hour's drive from us. There are museums describing the history of local apple and pear cider making. Our house is situated in the country and therefore your own vehicle is a must to see the sights. St Hilaire du Harcouet is 8.2 kms from us. There are plenty of cycling routes too. Parking is free in St Hilaire. There are some lovely restaurants, including pizza, and McDonalds has recently opened in our nearest town of St Hilaire du Harcouet.
